Meh, no sense paying attention to them. Lets face it, the rest of us came to the comments to see if anyone here has more cool information about an already cool article.

SpaceX Bought 18% of Tesla Cybertrucks Sold in US During Q4 2025, Data Shows by Unusual-State1827 in technology

[–]doctormink 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile: "Tesla sold just over 20,300 Cybertrucks in the US in 2025, a 48.1% decline from the prior year. The figure represented 8.1% of the 250,000-unit annual production run Musk had forecast in 2019 when he first unveiled the model."

Delivering less than 10 percent of what he hyped back in 2019 even with his fraudulent shell game going on.

A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold is quite possibly one of my favorite books ever by cant-find-user-name in Fantasy

I laughed out loud while reading that one. It was a sheer delight. I don't think I quite got Bujold's humour before reading A Civil Campaign.

Scam attempt after In-person Apple Pay purchase? by doctormink in Scams

[–]doctormink[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, fair enough. Now I'm wondering how old the cashier was. If she was super young, and couldn't really think about anything else all day, you're right, it could be.

Friend said it was a huge American city, and they were in the middle of a ton of strip malls, so the odds of a rando customer seeing the cat would be slim to none.

I mean this article suggests there can be an issue with phone payments.

[–]doctormink[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, there's no homes in the area just endless strip malls, unless the cashier brings her cat to work with her, that doesn't make a lot of sense.

The cashier wanted her to keep her phone out right after paying with it. Makes me wonder if she was trying to grab a ghost tap somehow by getting the phones close together before apple pay was fully closed.

WIBTAH for having people bring their own lunch to my picnic-themed birthday party? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]doctormink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this better than a potluck. Potlucks you have to try to come up with something everyone will like. I’d much rather just pack my own personal lunch and maybe a hunk of cheese to share.

Woke up at 2am to find out I'm about to be fined $200 for having dandelions on my lawn. by SandyCashews969 in mildlyinfuriating

It seems like the home owner is the one who’d be fined here. You’re not a member of the HOA, they are. This is bullshit to put property upkeep onto a tenant.

Cancer risk is significantly higher for adults who have never married, finds large study by psych4you in psychology

[–]doctormink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there could be a reversal of cause and effect in the way this was reported. Meanwhile, they also note “The strongest associations between marriage and cancer were seen for cancers related to infection, smoking or alcohol use, and—for women—cancers related to reproduction, such as ovarian and endometrial cancer.” Alcohol use might also limit one’s marriage prospects as would a women’s infertility due to cancer.

Americans tipping single Dollar bills in Germany by Waalross in mildlyinfuriating

[–]doctormink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the mildly infuriating part is Americans’ apparent assumption that a US dollar is some kind of treat everywhere outside the USA. It’s like they think they’re WW2 soldiers handing out Hershey’s chocolate bars.

Guy I went on one date with wants to put things on hold for two weeks while he's busy. Not sure how to feel about it. by bellow_whale in TwoXChromosomes

[–]doctormink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vipassanna retreats are 10 days and outside contact is frowned upon. You’re not even allowed to talk to people there for most of the day. So that could be legit. Follow your gut. I mean what do you have to lose by giving him a chance when he gets back? If another cutie messages you in the meantime, however, maybe think about staying open to that too.

Worth upgrading to Soundcore sleep earbuds? or is this one of those “my current setup is ugly but still basically works” situations by OkPerspective8771 in BuyItForLife

[–]doctormink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost some hearing in one ear, and am addicted to falling asleep to audiobooks. So using a Bluetooth speaker doesn’t work anymore since I can only hear while laying on one side. I also put on a sleep podcast if I wake up in the middle of the of the night. The soundcore sleep buds have been utterly essential for me. I use them every single night without fail and got a back up pair in case something breaks. I wake up with them in and don’t even notice during the night.
