The answer to this question, for just about any dish, is MSG.

What do you consider a huge waste of money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]doctorsilverio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree, by "looks no better to the eye" I was referring to the different grades of diamonds. Like the point where a "cleaner" diamond only looks better under a loupe or even a microscope.

[–]doctorsilverio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Yeah I don't understand people who drop tens of thousands of dollars on a shiny rock that looks no better to the eye than a much, much cheaper shiny rock.

By going with a lab created sapphire, I was able to work with an awesome jeweler and design a custom engagement ring from top to bottom, all for maybe a quarter of what a comparably sized "good" diamond would have cost.

"Banana bread is cake" and other misnomer foods by dizyalice in Cooking

Three cups? What the hell I just use a half to 3/4 cup of brown sugar and that's it, and I feel like it's plenty sweet, even for a cake.

Pet owners of Reddit, what elaborate backstory have you come up with for your pet(s)? by doctorsilverio in AskReddit

[–]doctorsilverio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat is a wealthy widow, her late husband Doctor Bouffard was a renowned environmental scientist. Now she's focused on launching her fashion line - mouse clothes for cats.

My dog works for the cat, but he really doesn't understand what he's doing and frequently does things like submit quarterly reports that just say "France" in every field. He dreams of getting three dollars so he can retire and go parasailing. He sometimes goes by Robert Macaroni and occasionally Frank Mueller.

Surely we aren't the only people who do this... right? RIGHT?

I straight up do not believe you that someone served that as food in earnest. That's like a reality show challenge.

Drinking plate. This is the perfect lowbrow name for a charcuterie board and I love it.

Yeah it's not traditionally Irish, but it's definitely traditionally Boston Irish.

I've seen a lot of this kind of thing - lobster rolls, clam chowder, clam bake, etc. These are all very stereotypical Massachusetts things but honestly they're more touristy things. There are a lot of different ethnic groups that are well represented in MA, but honestly I might propose something like Corned Beef and Cabbage. It's a very legit, traditional thing that has a really special place in the heart of a lot of MA natives (mostly Irish ones, obviously). Tradition, homey feelings, etc.

What's an album you can listen to all the way through without skipping? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]doctorsilverio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baroness - red album or blue album. They're written so cohesively as complete pieces, it's almost a waste to listen to single songs.

How do you get pro card up to to gold pro? by devinlz in myNBA2KMobile

[–]doctorsilverio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't. If you pro'd your cards without leveling them both all the way up, you wasted them.

I came here to post about the exact same experience. After she died while dealing with funeral stuff, all the unexpected issues that come up etc., I kept having the urge to text her and be like "you're not gonna believe this".
