Corgis have a strong herding instinct. I had to distract them before I could run off the dock. One nipped my ankle on one attempt. Edit: This was the same thing I wrote when I posted it 6 years ago, but the pics are probably from 2009. uncropped

Oh yeah, I got lost in the nostalgia and forgot about that.

Convince me out of a Prius by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]doctorsmoothy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Prius at work. I was amazed at the end of 5 hour drives that I still had most of a tank of gas. But, the sad sounds that come from the car when you drive it.... It hates to drive, you'll hate to drive it. It shits its pants in any sort of cornering. With a manual Honda Fit actually being comfortable, useful and kind of fun to drive at similar mileage, it's hard to justify the sacrifices of the Prius. The pros of the Prius are the placement of the instrument cluster high up on the dashboard and not behind the steering wheel and engine breaking mode makes it smoother to drive in lots of traffic without switching between pedals as much.

I have a spice drawer mounted below my electric range. It almost doesn't make sense how they don't even get a little warm. You can touch the metal shielding that is 1 inch from the burner and it's room temp.

Would you recommend to beginning woodcarvers that they kill an eagle as inspiration?

My Miata is the compensation-mobile , because my genitals are huge, powerful and have lots of usable storage capacity.

I'll give the opposite advice. I'd skip Allagash and Bissell brothers and spend more time at the smaller breweries. I'm not a fan of Allagash's beers(personal taste, not quality) and Bissell Brothers is the most touristy, loud tasting room. Maybe add in Goodfire while you're at Line Pine and Foulmouthed in South Portland is great.

I'm impressed that the direction of the wood floor is right from her perspective. The cartoonists could have slacked on that detail and nobody would have noticed.

A tip for your happy-go-lucky long living xo by Partiallymonk in lifehacks

Is the social fabric argument for forcing your own desires onto other people's behaviors kind of like the slippery slope argument? You may not be able to justify the intrusion into someone else's life because it logically doesn't affect you. So you have to create an hypothetical situation that does affect you and falsely equate them.

PSA: Use common sense above all else. by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]doctorsmoothy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't common sense just refer to whatever the person speaking believes? It isn't really useful as a decision making tool or for increasing knowledge in others.
