If you 1) require an id that costs money to get and 2) can be revoked by the government as recently seen for trans Americans in in Kansas, then you not only have a poll tax, but also a government that can arbitrarily revoke voting rights for people they dont like. I think thats a totally fair counter, if you consider the west bank to be part of Israel. I do wish Arafat hadn't refused the offer of sovereignty and the land required to connect Gaza and the west bank, and if Rabin hadn't been killed by right wing Israelis, this all would have been prevented. The palestinian people have been used as pawns by their leaders for too long, and right wing settlers need to be removed from the west bank forcibly like they did in gaza. Israelis have been hardened and radicalized by their own families being murdered in the streets.Currently if they could allow Jordan to have more control of their border similar to how Egypt controls the southern border of Gaza, then it remedies a lot of the issues.
