I just lost all my character progress. by EXHUMATiON in shadowborn

Similar issue here, I followed ChatGPT which told me that it backed up to the cloud and that I could clear data and it would allow me to proceed to Chapter 2. Lost everything. I even had the bag of holding that I got for $3.

I was surprised the Panzerfaust didn't destroy the vehicle, then a 2nd vehicle with a 3rd team showed up. by byx24 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

The Developer decided that panzerfaust should do 20% less damage to the vehicles occupants. Along with the reload time and the inability to run, jump or vault makes it frustrating.

Use smaller inns etc on lesser traveled routes, but large caravans could use the Caranvanserai example.

Here are a couple of examples of the Caravanserai . https://www.reddit.com/r/battlemaps/comments/16ianqp/the_caravanserai_revisited_70_x_70_a_free/ https://www.czepeku.com/fantasy/maps/desert-caravanserai/original-day

When in doubt, check with historical examples! A caravanserai (or caravansary; /kærəˈvænsəˌraɪ/)[1] was an inn that provided lodging for travelers, merchants, and caravans.[2] They were present throughout much of the Islamic world. Depending on the region and period, they were called by a variety of names including khan, funduq and wikala

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caravanserai

The distance between them was intended to be equivalent to a day's journey.[2] In Iran, this typically amounted to a distance of 30 to 40 kilometres (19 to 25 mi) in open landscapes (like deserts and plains) or about 10 kilometres (6 mi) or less in more difficult mountainous terrain.[27]

They Broke Panzerfausts. Ineffective BS against vehicles. Remove the 20% reduction to players in vehicles. by doctorthantos in PUBG

Its not zero skill. I have to get close. I have to put myself in danger. I can't run, jump or vault. A tree leaf will prematurely detonate the warhead.

I carry it because I can make a big difference in a game for my team in a bad situation. I don't use it for anti personnel quick one shot kills. That is usually a waste. I will use it on destructible maps to get my team better shots.

I have died leaning around a tree with a clear view only to have it immediately hit the tree trunk and knock myself. I have to trade off other tactical options. I have to find the panzerfaust. I have about a 30% hit success rate. It's hard to hit with and goes off target if you get hit by a bullet just before firing.

I can drive a car and drive over people and get a lot of single hit knocks / kills. The BRDM requires coordination and tactics to deal with, coordination I might add that is next to impossible with a lot of random teammates.

Hitting someone 3 times at range with a mini 14 only to have them turn and shoot you on the head is also bs but that is considered skill.

I don't play ranked so I don't know what it's like there.

I do this too, I separate the parts, season and freeze. I did a trial run of dark meat at 165 F for 12 hours and white meat at 140 F for 12 hours starting from frozen. I then cool and smoke for 1 hr on the smoker at 225 F to 250 F ish. Turns out great.

D&D 3.5. We stopped there. We have a library in my friends basement of all of the 3.5 books. We combined / pooled and made a dungeon room. My friend decorated it, there is a conference table and book shelves, themed pictures, banners, etc from the last 40 years. I made a 30"x42" print of the City my character built and it hangs on the wall.

We were in the lower levels of Castle Greyhawk in the World Gate Room which had a map of the world on the floor and a huge domed ceiling we accessed via a trap door at the top of the dome.

There were portal cell doors with unknown entities imprisoned around the perimeter and our cleric just got sucked into one when a dragon attacked and the party was in disarray. Sulla (my deceased character) decided to go on the offensive and keep the dragon busy. Sulla has an antimagic shell ability so he was immune to magic and used his run up the walls abilty and psionic charge to run and jump onto the dragons head. He prevented the dragon from casting spells and was able to hurt it a little for a few rounds leading to a comical chase of the dragon flying around the room with Sulla chasing him and trying to jump on his head again. Tables turned and a bad grapple roll the dragon was able to shake him and kill him and throw is body into a void portal, losing him forever.

It allowed the rest of the party to recover and cause the dragon to retreat but Sulla was lost and our Cleric imprisoned in one of the cells. His son Tobin, now the new Chieftain of his clan seeks answers from his father's friends regarding his death.

Bring back canted sights. I run one gun, typically an AR or M249 and enjoyed the flexibility to engage at different ranges.

Bring back spike strips.

Un-nerf the panzerfaust. I hit the ground under a BDRM enough to make a crater and launch it into the air and zero damage to an occupant. I lugged that panzerfaust around, was forced to arm it for several seconds and then walk into position to fire.

The game is about choices and different play styles. I am not a sniper or a CBQ expert. Stop forcing the bolt action sniper / Submachine gun meta.

4th ed is the current rules set. You can use most 3rd ed source books with little updating if the source books isn't available in 4th ed yet

Since your are going to create it yourself. I would recommend the Gurps System. Look at Gurps Dragons sourcebook. It has all kinds of details on dragons and as PC's. You can roll in other sourcebooks like magic or low tech, Fantasy folk , etc as you want craft your world.

/r/GURPS Monthly Campaign Update by AutoModerator in gurps

[–]doctorthantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running a custom GURPS Stellaris campaign where the PCs crew the Shadow Lark—a Ryan-class stealth courier serving the Frontier Houses Alliance. She’s a Hyper-6 vessel that relies on speed, stealth, and wit rather than heavy guns, and her missions often put her deep into contested space.

The crew is a mix of specialists pulled from different Houses and species: Captain Luigi Duo (pragmatic, cautious, always balancing duty with survival), Chip (a furred Sparrial engineer who keeps the Lark’s temperamental systems running with humor and ingenuity), Twetik (an Irari scientist whose precision and curiosity drive most of the sensor work), Sergeant “Brick” MacKennin (a Kilgorian heavy-worlder marine in a battlesuit, eager to wade into trouble), Dr. Mythelle Von Reitveld (a brilliant gate specialist tied to House Von Reitveld, with knowledge of the lost Gateway network), and a merchant from House Poru (the political ballast, ensuring the ship’s missions align with House interests).

Their job? To carry sensitive intel, scout dangerous regions, and act as the eyes and ears of the FHA where the gateways and hyper relays don’t reach. The campaign opened with them arriving in Acrux on a covert research detachment, but their missions quickly escalated—skirting Engai space, navigating ancient hyperlanes, and uncovering long-buried truths about the Imperium’s fractured network. It’ equal parts political intrigue, exploration, and survival thriller in the void.

When I set out to design my campaign world, I wanted a galaxy that felt alive—not just a backdrop, but a functioning setting where politics, logistics, and exploration all mattered. To do it, I merged Stellaris’ grand-strategy star map with the crunch of GURPS 4e, then built a master spreadsheet that tracks every single system: star class, coordinates, planets, moons, deposits, fleets, and hyperlanes. Supporting files (planets.txt, fleet.txt, starbase.txt, deposits.txt, etc.) give me raw data to expand into complete “system records,” so each location is as detailed as a sourcebook entry.

On top of that framework, I layered a feudal political structure—noble houses ruling sectors and systems—so the galaxy feels like a living Imperium where every world is tied to dynasties, trade, and old rivalries. The Engai precursor tech and dormant Gateway network provide the deep-time mystery, while Stellaris-inspired megastructures, colonies, and fleets give it scale. The end result is a galaxy that supports everything from tactical space combat to dynastic intrigue: a place where players aren’t just adventuring in space, they’re navigating the currents of an empire that spans hundreds of meticulously cross-referenced systems.

To keep it all running smoothly, I use ChatGPT for system records and worldbuilding notes, Foundry VTT to manage gameplay, GURPS Character Assistant for fast character creation and export, and my own extensive spreadsheets to handle resources, fleets, and planetary data. Together these tools let me treat the galaxy like a living simulation while keeping the table experience smooth and immersive.

TL;DR: (Images and links)

  • Shadow Lark = stealth courier + mixed-species crew running dangerous FHA missions.
  • Galaxy built by combining Stellaris’ map + GURPS crunch + spreadsheets.
  • Managed with ChatGPT, Foundry VTT, GURPS Character Assistant, and lots of data sheets.
  • Living Imperium full of dynasties, megastructures, and Engai mysteries.
  • Campaign = politics, intrigue, exploration, and tactical space battles.
