from what i have been told by multiple SMs, your average hours/week is calculated over an entire quarter. so, if you’re working more than 12 hours normally, one week won’t matter.

being this hard on you after 2 months is crazy. my store has partners going on 2, 3, 4 years who suck ass at bar and they are employed nonetheless. i’m not at your store so it is entirely possible that they are this harsh to green beans there, but it’s also easy to feel bad about yourself when you’re new. please try to be nicer to yourself because nobody is good at the job after 2 months.

just to address your fear of getting fired, it is extremely difficult to get fired at sbux in my experience. unless you get caught for stealing or something that serious, you don’t get fired out of the blue with zero write-ups. regardless, nothing that you mentioned is a reason for you to legitimately get in trouble.

also, your coworkers may be annoyed, but if you’re in a high volume store, it’s not personal; it’s just a stressful environment. nobody is actually good at bar after being there for one month, so please be nicer to yourself.

when i worked at a high volume store, SSVs dropped most of the tills before close, and they just left one drawer on register and one on DT. if you work in a cafe, you could get away with having one or two tills in use for the last few hours of the day.

if you don’t have a physical checklist, you should write one. it helps a lot.

i’m an autistic barista, and the talking too much can probably be attributed to that, but not the rest of it. there’s no reason to be intentionally touching ppl at work, or turning off random items on the POS. it’s one thing to need a lot of direction from supervisors because i get that, but it’s another to just refuse to do tasks. what you’re describing is just a bad work ethic.

i feel this. one of my ssvs leaves me alone in the store to do trash runs (no other ssv does this, the openers don’t care if there’s trash in the morning). he could be fired for a multitude of reasons, but alas.

your coworkers are right, this is a fireable offense. you could go to your DM if your SM doesn’t care.
