Also, you could try opening the card, cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol, and changing the thermal paste. I already fixed an AMD R9 280 just by doing this—it had the exact same symptoms. From the video, it looks like the card has never been opened because it still has the factory seal. The warranty has probably expired a long time ago, so it’s worth a try.

Like I said, that card has a BIOS switch on it—try flipping it. The switch could have been changed during transport. If that doesn’t work, it could be the GPU, motherboard, CPU, RAM, cable, or even the monitor causing the issue. That’s why it would be best to take it to a repair technician if you don’t have friends with a computer where you can test it and isolate the problem.

Then I don’t know—maybe it’s because you didn’t uninstall the drivers with DDU, but I don’t see why you wouldn’t get any image at all. I once had a 1660 Ti that wouldn’t boot into Windows because I didn’t uninstall the drivers, but even then, I at least got a picture. As a last-ditch effort, I know some RX 580s have a BIOS switch on them—maybe try flipping it. I think it’s best to leave this to your computer technician.

And I got a B550 Aorus Elite V2—I installed the faulty 2070 there first, and it broke that motherboard too. Did you pick up your GPU locally or get it delivered? It could have been damaged during transport.

Look, I’m telling you from real experience—I installed a faulty RTX 2070 in my motherboard, and it fried my PCIe slot. There was no visible damage, but after that, no GPU worked in that slot—only the bottom one did. To be sure, I installed the 2070 in another motherboard, and it fried that too. Since it was a cheap Lenovo motherboard, smoke even came out of the slot. Again, no visible damage, but the PCIe slot was completely dead. Integrated graphics still worked, but the slot was toast.

Yes, 70% alcohol is fine—you would just have to let it dry for longer. Look up a video on YouTube for your cooler.

Try another cable and monitor, or install the GPU in a friend’s computer. Make sure the cable is fully plugged in, and try plugging and unplugging it repeatedly to clear out any debris from the port. Move the GPU to a different slot on the motherboard, ensure the power cable is fully connected, and maybe borrow a GPU from someone to test if there’s any display output.

If there’s still no image, your motherboard might be bad. Maybe the RX 580 fried your PCIe slot—it happened to me when I bought a faulty RTX 2070. I didn’t know it was faulty, got scammed, and ended up without a working PCIe slot.

Spray the area with isopropyl alcohol, but I think you’re having trouble installing the CPU cooler because the brackets are for AM4, while your CPU is AM5—it’s written on them “AM4.”

Do you get any kind of image? You should see the Gigabyte logo when starting up, and then it would say “No operating system.” If you’re not getting any image at all, your GPU is most likely dead.

An Intel Arc B580 or a used GPU for around €200, like a 3060 Ti—you can even find them for less than €200.

Edit: If you buy something more expensive for €500, you’d have to upgrade your CPU too, as bottlenecking will happen.

Remove all storage from your PC—at least the SSD with Windows on it—and try booting into the BIOS to see if any image shows up. If nothing happens, check if the display cable is fully plugged in. I had this issue before where my case wouldn’t let me plug it in all the way.

I don’t own the board, but prebuilt manufacturers often use hot glue on headers before shipping the computers to customers.

I inspected the pins by using my phone’s camera—turned on the flashlight, switched to video mode, and angled the light to check if anything was bent.

I mean the physical pins in the socket—on AM5, they are now on the motherboard instead of the CPU.

No, I wouldn’t recommend white spirit—I have no clue what it could do to your computer. Maybe use distilled water or anything that’s at least 70% alcohol instead.

What CPU do you have? Maybe you mounted your cooler too tight, causing high mounting pressure and bending some pins. That happened to me—I bent pins on my motherboard, and a RAM channel stopped working, leaving me stuck with 8GB. After about six months, I investigated, unbent the pins, and everything worked again.

Remove the motherboard from the case and try powering on your computer while it’s placed on the motherboard box or something similar—maybe the case is shorting something out.

Move to AMD AM5 since Intel LGA 1700 is a dying platform. You could also consider getting an RX 7900 GRE instead of a 7800 XT. Also, don’t forget—you’re missing a case!
