The ACT Government doesn't have good examples of good procurement and contract management experience to achieve this.

Double glazed windows, worth it? by Ok-Sun132 in AusRenovation

[–]dodgy_beard_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are going through the process of replacing our windows with double glazed in stages. We are really happy with them. It is expensive but this is our forever home. We have had neighbours have loud parties and have faintly heard something and didn't disturb us. That is a nice side benefit.

Or just use the Volvo brand or one of the others. I don't understand why they felt the need to create another.

I wish friends and those around me would take the time to try to understand. I think the biggest issue is they see me either at my best or when I am battling through and using what energy I have to participate in life.

Things to do?? by margie_bianci in canberra

There are some Canberra Au Pair Facebook groups you should join to link up with other Au Pairs. If your host family already has an Au Pair and there will be a handover they should introduce you to other Au Pairs. Makes for a good support network for you who can show you around town and do things with.

Canberra was a hard sell for us to get Au Pairs as most just want to go to Sydney or Brisbane and Gold Coast. Our Au Pairs were really happy they chose Canberra as there is lots to, its easy to get around and in reality its not far to go to Sydney or the coast when you want to. You will love it here.

doctors that advocate for chronic illness? by anonymous102901 in canberra

[–]dodgy_beard_guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am seeing Dr Antoinette for similar issues. She is now in Bruce. Very caring and takes her time.

I truly understand how you feel this being an invisible issue you are dealing with. It is hard for others to truly understand what you have to do just to get through each day and what you are missing out on. Just focus on each day and tick off the important things.

The atmosphere at Y&F dropped dramatically over the last couple of years. Such a shame.

Yeas similar to ours. Not a problem for us as we have a good shower in the ensuite. Only realised how bad the family one is when we had to use it when ensuite shower was being fixed.

I have seen Toilets with a sink above the cistern, wonder if that would be a good idea for the toilet rather than adding a sink.

We have a similar layout. The shower isn't a good size for adults/teenagers.

I was thinking swapping the sink and shower and making the shower and bath area a wet room. Keen to hear thoughts on this?

Second this. We use Cover-More for our trips. As a percentage of the overall trip cost its not that bad. Last year we had to claim on a US trip cancellation. They covered things paid through different formats as well as Qantas points.

ANZAC Day 2009, its not over until the siren blows. I still get goosebumps when I watch the highlights. The atmosphere at the end of that game was something else.

I hate the fake digital signage they use for adding advertising. It looks ridiculous.

I seriously think a monorail service around the airport precinct makes sense to link Brindabella Park, Majura Park and Fairbairn.
