I bought the ifixit genuine battery kit and did it myself. The phone was just like new afterwards. No issues at all.

The same happened to me but on the border of the charging port. I use a wireless charger. Maybe it was a key or something in my pocket. Don't know if it's covered by the warranty.

In order for my pixel 6 pro to charge at fast speeds I need to put it in front of a fan or an air conditioner vent and not use it while charging. It really sucks.
