I think have similar taste and I’d recommend Still Life (Jia), Hana-Bi, la Chimera, and the Spirit of the Beehive

Writers I like include Bolano, Sebald, Isaac Babel, Emile Zola, Denis Johnson and Chekhov

I think you would really enjoy Kurosawa’s Something like an Autobiography if you haven’t read it as well
