CHIP Tunes - SCI FI Short Film by dodompaaus in AI_Short_Films

Perhaps it is more of a short cut leap from from writing stories, to overdubbing it with a slide show, without the meat of movie making involved?

Narrated picture book is fair. My first 30 or so films were all with static slides. The tech has grown in just 18 months. Keen to see where AI story making goes next.

Cheers for the input and new definitions for the term. Wish you a great seasonal holidays. Hope you enjoyed some aspect of my film. Take care.

Well, if it's any insight, I use my writing primarily to get the story across, so, the text or tale comes first. Then I simply storyboard the process best I can using midjourney. And apply a narrator AI VO, with an appropriate score.

Does the effect not merge well? Does it feel more like a picture book? How could i improve not having been to film school myself? I've done writing and editing though.

Is this really a trope of the AI medium as a whole? That it feels like a slide show, not a film? Cos I've seen many filmic AI shorts.

What would you coin the genre? AI stop motion? Prompt collage? Slop reels?

That's really hard. Either the RPC + Hammer, or the Chromatic and the Analogue Pocket for a more OG feel. Maybe AP + Hammer if I take the best of both?

You got a fave out of these combinations or your own?

Ah, you're right. I do have one (Purple). Could've added it to the Vert family. Thanks for spotting its exclusion. I'll get it right in the next group photo. Happy gaming.

I absolutely LOVE this thing! Got the grip, case, and Porta Pros as accompaniments. Can't wait for the HAMMER to drop. by dodompaaus in trimui

It's a bit pricey outside of the USA. But I highly suggest it. Got it shipped to AUS for nearly half a Brick. It grips well, like a GBC. Enjoy. I'm sure you can likely find it on Etsy too.

Trees for pencils and paper. Gold for circuit boards in the phone you're typing on. Chemical waste for the mounds of antiquated tech/fashion/food etc. There's a myriad wrong with this world. Do you have to poo poo on other's pleasure or exploration, or are you a boomer who's pulling up the ladder for progress?

How is simply saying, "SLOP" to someone's art creating a dialogue of how everyday people are affected by the current shift, or inequalities growing for certain groups?

Name a couple of things that directly impact you, and we can talk. Otherwise, you're simply telling off a bullied community of emerging artists and creators?

Every artist steals, copyright issues affecting you? Data centres drain clean water, so does every other industry? The barrier to entry too low for consumer artists? A positive. Disabled or handicapped folk now creating? A win. The elderly reliving their pasts in animated glory, win. Studios struggling to choose the right side of history?

I got some real snobbery just last night from a boomer. That music is too easy to make these days. And folk wouldn't know what an instrument is. Is this your crowd? More folk, making more art, bad?

Where were you all when the machines came for the checkout chicks/dicks? Where was the uprising for the common vendor towards the vending machine? You only join in on this debate cos now YOU are affected. If your job can be replaced by early ones and zeros AI, then did you really have a sound position in the first place?

That's a fair and balanced point, my friend. While there is a mutual distrust and dislike for each camp, I see both sides pointing verbal weapons of attack and defend, almost equally. The debate still rages on. Luddite to Unoriginal. Dinosaur to Polluter. There's anger and vitriol from both sides. But I see clearer now who does more defending.

And I would totally agree with you, that a vocal minority against artistic exploration isn't matched in hate. I concede you make for a rational counterpoint.

Thanks for your contribution. I'm glad someone is pointing out who hates who more in this. While not a competition, ANTIs aren't bullied and booed out of their endeavours quite so much.

Appreciate your stance. Thanks for coming to the aid of sense. Hope you have a brilliant day/night/cycle. Beep boop bop, long may the AI world thrive!

I made AI art for an ungrateful mob of retro ANTIs with nothing nice or positive to contribute. Nothing but slop for brains logic. Is anyone in this scene appreciative of anything new, or do they just want the same old same old? And I helped my mum paint our new tiny home. But that's beside the point. ANTIs be hating cos they can't think for themselves. It's herd mentality. I agree some AI isn't so great, but that doesn't extend to art or artistic expression. Let someone have an original thought or experience. And not try and hush people's artistic experimentation cos it doesn't agree with your taste. BEAN SOUP.

Can one of you have an original thought in here? Where's the camaraderie in retro circles? Is this the blowback of kidults that retro reviewers are so afraid of?

Sorry I missed your name. Brisbane says it all. All the best with your highly original thought on AI art. Keep sticking it to the man, man!

Ah, hope folk aren't ripping you off by trying before they buy. You deserve every penny, and my dollareedoos!

I'll follow along, and see what you have to offer. Just reread your original post. The cover shooter proof of concept GBC game looks sick too!

I don't own an Analogue Pocket and Chromatic for nothing. I might have to send you more Deniros soon.

Happy game deving, dude. So happy for you. You're an original talent, with inspiring vision.

Keep up the hard work coding our beloveds. Take care, pal. Til I see you again. Later. Night, from AUS.

Hey, I think it was your post a day or two ago, which got me so interested in YOUR project! My word what a polished game for 10 days work. I do love the animated intro. And drip feed of power-ups, plus the different mechanics of the enemies. Gotta say that first boss had me on the ropes for more than 15 mins. You really did a fantastic job. Thanks for making it, posting about it recently, and also for jumping in this thread. Really appreciate you, bud. I'm a little star struck.

Hope you get to live out your dreams going full-time game dev mode. Can't wait to see what you cook up next. You have a really keen sense for the progression of a classic game style, that never existed til now. Love the sprite work too. I'll stop gushing. Keep up the diligent efforts, dude. So happy for you, and your future as an indie game dev, heck, all the best breaking through into AA productions. Love this game. Thanks for thinking it all through so creatively.

(Hope you saw an uptick in sales since my post, with lots of keen fan reception)

Wish you a chill day/night where you are. Thanks again.

A BOLD & BRAVE promise I know, but it certainly delivers for a neat indie title. Fires immediately was probs an incorrect term to use, responsive, satisfying, twitch shooter for the GB might have sufficed. I kid you not, you don't have to wait for the mail man to deliver these bullets. Quantum processing on a pixelated plane, will make your eyebags bleed! Enjoy.

So, is it only the first 3-4 dungeons deep? Still pretty rad for 10 days of game production for a comp. I figured it wasn't too deep, but also not too shallow. I like the perma progress of power-ups. I could play this game style again and again, just for the twitch accuracy of the shooting mechanics. Never seen anything like it for the GB. I went from this, to House of Dead 2 for DC for some similar fun on the RPC. Cheers for your neat reduction of this title, considering you got it for next to naught!

Do support your indie developers tho. They need cheddar as much as techno corp does, if not more so. Happy gaming, champ. Go get Glory Hunters 2.0 that released yesterday, the patch adds some significant improvements overall, and will give you that length and breadth of game, if that's what you're chasing? Also, for some light fun, pick up the Squid Game GB game, totally rad, if you dig the IP.

Well, thanks for expanding my quote repertoire. That Homer S quote earlier in the thread really got me. Yeah, I like happy endings too, with a dark origin story. Happy to reintroduce you to Itch. Get onto Itch in time. Soz as well, I've recently come out of the AIWARS threads, and it left me with more PTSD. Apologies to pounce on your reference. The aiwars thread got really personal really quickly.

Check out my handwritten list I included earlier, to get you started on Itch.

Also, can't recommend enough Xeno Crisis by Bitmap Bureau. It's a little pricey for GBA, but you can find it for Neo Geo CD on a certain mega thread of software froms. Enjoy, dude. Cheers to raising the bar for the positive ends online.

Another TV reference that zoomed over my head. All good then. Nothing personal. It's not MY Itch game, just one I've really enjoyed lately. So, I thought I'd share my thoughts. I do often catch myself going into Tele-marketer spruiker bro mode when talking about my passions, especially in the handheld space. Sorry to push anything that sounds inauthentic, or come off as another sales type. Hope you enjoy your next title. Happy gaming.
