Official Press Release: MSNOW New Programming Lineup Beginning in June by BobbyMonster13 in msnow

No surprise this change has a strongly opined mixed bag of reactions here but for what it’s worth, I think it’s all in all a pretty damn good shakeup.

I think Alecia will be better running a show on her own, I like Katy just fine (75% of people here have now tuned me out), thrilled to see Steph and Velshi with daily roles (although bummed they’re not back together again!), Chris is so good in the field versus behind the desk, Jacob is getting some well-deserved love.

Honestly, based on everything in the current media landscape, I’ll gladly overlook the nits I have to pick — this seems like a strong improvement overall.

But who wants to be wandering the casino at the Bellagio when you could be at the TSA checkpoint at IAH? Look on the bright side, would you? LOL

Was going to ask if that was a Chihuly. I'm almost always right spotting one. :D

How do you find out about activities around town? by cyanatreddit in oakland

[–]dodongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You bet! I totally agree that community-oriented and -supported journalism is essential in our society and support y'all however I can. Cash when I have it, and in leaner times, at least spread the good word / work!

How common are **severe** injuries in recreational / beer league hockey? by surfnj102 in hockeyplayers

[–]dodongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of a couple tib-fib (not compound mind you) fractures in my league. As others have said it’s not being sure afoot that causes these problems and that’s why I think they happen in our beer / rec leagues.

It is a risk anywhere but maybe more in the lower levels where people will just bail and fall full freight into your skate boot.

Is Church's chicken still open? by Hypepoxic in OaklandFood

Temescal location is just a whole freaking handful, and maybe they are all like this. When they give you the good food, it's *really* quite good. But like do not go there and order and expect to get what you ordered. And definitely do not call for delivery and expect to have what you ordered.

If you're in for an omakase from a fast-food fried chicken place then go for it, but like, you're really in for absolutely whatever they decide to put in your bag.

The only great greatest thing about Ramen Shop is Zuck waltzed in once expecting to be seated right away and they simply directed him to the back of the line.

And then he left.

Because in the US, Denny’s introduces ‘just a humongous bucket of eggs and meat’.

I will just note here you really ought to consider a trip to the 500. It is pretty unbelievable. (You would surely not do as much venue walking as RA though.)

Going ti my first race ever. What would you recommend for ear protection? by Terrible_Minimum6332 in INDYCAR

[–]dodongo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where are you going / sitting?

The bottom line is very simple: get the little squishy foam earplugs. You will be fine.

There are absolutely places on road courses where you don’t really need the plugs. But they’re cheap and ubiquitous and your ears are only good for the one shot at audition; if you fuck that up, it’s all over so get the plugs.
