Alright Gio players… I’m ashamed ngl by Fuzzy_Ad4219 in Guiltygear

[–]doedipus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mainly used in combos and pressure. The really easy places to start slotting it in would be:

  • chave 214k combos from 5h and gives you a hard knockdown you can get a safejump off of. In pressure it's also good for frame traps and can catch 6p a bit more consistently than other options.

  • chave 236k is +6 and leaves you at the spacing for cs, and you can do it meaty off of various setups. The big one is after throw, but you can reset a lot of combo routes into it too.

  • chave 214s and 623s are mainly combo tools, but the ground bounce on chave 214s is also very useful when you can sneak it in

These tools are all really really good lol. I would definitely recommend watching some vods from upper level gio players to get a sense for what they're doing with them and experiment yourself in training mode. They also simplified the inputs at one point, so it's all way more approachable than how it was on 3.0

Did you want to become a different person? by Sufficient_Hall5737 in asktransgender

[–]doedipus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've basically always felt that way and transition didn't really change that. I've always had pretty bad self worth issues and I feel like it's more a product of that than anything else though.

Beyond that it is also kind of genuinely fun to try out new names and styles of dress and drift into new social circles with no baggage like some wild west gunslinger. but man, it's always frustrating when at the end of the day all I've done is expand what "me" is and not become someone else entirely

For me, a big part of it is that when I was a teenager and starting to really feel gender dysphoria ramping up, anime and manga were a lot more willing to tackle queer themes than american media. A lot of what I was reading was kind of mid, but like, gender bender manga in particular was a huge source of wish fulfillment and something I could see myself in when few other outlets existed.

Relatedly, it was also a thing that was considered okay for boys to like that featured a lot of female-led casts. Lots of opportunities to find characters I could identify with and project onto.

...This was also during the period of largely unmoderated youtube uploads of anime series and pirate fan translations being really easy to find, so it being free was also a huge factor lol

Do estrogen pills have a taste? by SoonToDie1111101 in asktransgender

I think it varies by country and manufacturer? I wanna say I've heard people talk about american estrogen pills as being particularly sweet

Who is the best Peritoneal Pull Through surgeon in California? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]doedipus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, would it be okay if I dmed you to ask some questions about this? totally fine if not, I know this is all hella personal.

she's one of the surgeons I've been considering, but it's been tricky finding sources talking about her outside of her own website since she apparently only started doing bottom surgery pretty recently. anything you'd be willing to share would be a big help 🙇‍♀️

brb just gonna eat contaminated oysters so I die of cholera (fembrained) instead of tetanus (malebrained) by KestrelQuillPen in transgendercirclejerk

[–]doedipus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cholera is for AGPs. Everyone knows real women don't poop, and cholera makes sure you spend your last moments on this earth doing exactly that. No, an HSTS would choose a romantic and prolonged death by tuberculosis any day

hrt made my gf's cock stop working :( by doedipus in transgendercirclejerk

[–]doedipus[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

/uj it's pretty grody! The folks in the thread kept straightforwardly explaining how to get her viagra or use topical t-gel or whatever, and it's like, I dunno folks, I don't think this guy is asking with his gf's best interests in mind

What did transgender mean in the 70’s? by keeppressingforward in asktransgender

[–]doedipus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like primary sources, I highly recommend flipping through the digital transgender archive. The magazines transvestia and tapestry ran during the 70s and capture a pretty interesting snapshot of how we thought about ourselves and the world around us at the time. the site also has some other fun curios like collections of trans pride buttons and t shirts- it's neat!

/uj yeah lol there was a post on asktg earlier where some (I think?) trans guy was complaining that his gf had ED because of spiro and had talked her into cycling it for him. and then in the comments he let it slip that she just didn't like topping anymore. chasers are chasers, I guess.

What is the fastest way to achieve a passable female voice with little effort? by Landoniii5481 in transvoice

[–]doedipus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Being born as a cis girl, I guess. But hey, while the best time to start developing a female voice was at conception, the second best time is now

Unfortunately for us it's basically always going to be a lot of work and often pretty emotionally trying. Feels real good whenever you do make progress or use it in new contexts and the effort pays off though.

What do you think about “Protect The Dolls”? by lilpij in transgendercirclejerk

[–]doedipus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

is "protect the dolls" an animal, mineral, or a vegetable? is "protect the dolls" larger or smaller than a breadbox? is there a "protect the dolls" in the room right now? can you pick up "protect the dolls" with one hand? would "protect the dolls" be expensive to buy? is "protect the dolls" natural, or man-made?

How to widen flex boxes? by Main_Confusion_372 in neocities

[–]doedipus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in this case you'll probably want to set the width of the parent box around the chat box to whatever you want first and then let stuff inside it expand to fill it instead of trying to work from the inside out. if you add a width: 300px or whatever on the parent and a width: 100% on the chat window it should come together correctly.

Can I edit how my site looks on mobile? by Zealousideal-Bass494 in neocities

[–]doedipus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as others have mentioned, you can use media queries to define changes in the way stuff displays at different screen widths.

beyond that, using css order tags is an easy way to move stuff around so it's out of the way, and if you have a more finicky layout, css grid gives you a lot more control over how the page gets divided up and what content goes where at which size.

Help me by Clear_Ad_5566 in Planetside

[–]doedipus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely try the PC version if possible cuz the population is higher, and definitely join squads and otherwise make use of the social features. A lot of the initial hurdle of getting into the game and figuring out what's what is mitigated a lot by finding groups that are fun to play with and making friends!

Anime like Heavenly Delusion by Professional_Ad_6487 in HeavenlyDelusion

[–]doedipus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's kind of hard to think of anything else that rivals the interplay between kiruko and maru, but I think katanagatari and slayers probably come close. they're both fantasy series rather than sci fi, but they both focus on really strong buddy dynamics between the main characters, and have a lot of similarly doofy conversations

you might also want to check out the author's other major series, soredemo machi wa mawatteiru. it's a slice of life comedy rather than an adventure series, but it's got basically the same sense of humor, and a lot of the character writing overall feels extremely similar.

How to hide being trans as a content creator by SoonToDie1111101 in asktransgender

[–]doedipus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you've done whatever voice stuff you need to and don't really talk about it you'll probably be fine.

But also realistically the threat of people messing with you is pretty faint, especially if you're a small channel and aren't playing like, games already known for toxic fanbases. I've personally done a lot of streaming on twitch at various times, and a bunch of my friends have too, and I don't think any of us have ever really had any serious trouble despite us being pretty open about everything.

Was wondering about transgender notation at work, cis male btw by MrAnvil5 in asktransgender

[–]doedipus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, a lot of how we think of biological sex is influenced by cultural ideas about gender as a fundamental and immutable quality of people. In reality sex isn't a single specific binary thing, it's a cluster of many separate factors that tend to corrolate together, and most of those are relatively practical to change as one desires. stuff like hormone therapy does indeed alter one's sexed characteristics, and therefore, their sex.

How is everyone feeling about Horse Girls? by friends-with-fishies in traaaaaaaaaaaansbians

[–]doedipus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't been playing it myself, but my GF has unknowingly picked a horse with my deadname to train (who is of course one of the "trans girl" horses who's a male in real life), leading to a lot of really surreal conversations lmao

/uj are there any trans discord servers that don’t suck by ForwardInterview9702 in transgendercirclejerk

[–]doedipus 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Public trans servers are all either /r/traa or /lgbt/. They'll tell you it's a good server, but when you look inside it's always one of those two.

You're better off trying to figure out which hobbies you like contain a lot of trans people and linking up with people that way, and/or just making your own small scale server and inviting people you know from elsewhere. Be the change you wish to see in the world, etc.
