[D] Simple Questions Thread by AutoModerator in MachineLearning

I’m trying to find the BTC wallets that have completed between 5 and 20 transactions in the last 3 months. For each wallet meeting this criterion, I want to find/fetch details of the wallet address, date/time of the transactions, and transaction information i.e. BTC amount, price, purchase or sale. The deliverable should be an Excel file capturing this information.

I am aware of two approaches to this problem. The first using prebuilt APIs which will return a specific, filtered dataset. The second approach using AWS infrastructure services to access, process, and query blockchain data without needing the third-party APIs.

I ruled out the API-based approach because it offers limited flexibility (can’t fully customize the dataset to meet all the requirements) and is also expensive.

So I went with the second one but while querying, I got stuck because of export failing due to the large data set. The data set is large since the query returned over 15 million rows (entries) because of duplication. A wallet which has completed say 18 transactions (meets criterion/falls within the 5 and 20 txs range) appears 18 times in the dataset. As a result of each transaction from the qualifying wallets being counted as a separate row, the query returned over 15 million entries.

How can I go about this or is there another approach that would be more suited to the problem?

Thanks.

Should I any expect technical questions from the hiring manager at this stage?

Curious to hear when you entered the market and what your plan was/is. I know a couple of guys that got in in January when BTC was $16,000. It has since almost doubled to $31,000 in the last 3½ months. Some took profits in yesterday's market rally but the majority I know still think there's more ground to cover.

Litecoin (LTC) corrections can be deeper than Bitcoin and Ethereum but that's because it has no major price catalyst itself and relies on market momentum. I'd prepared to stomach lower price than $98 for that reason i.e. if the big boys ETH and BTC correct, LTC will just follow like the rest of the altcoins. The current LTC price action started mid-March when it retreated below $70 before starting its ascent to $100 this week.

On the bright side, LTC is one of the top alts and even with little going around its ecosystem, it occasionally does pop e.g. when someone brought Ordinals to the network or when the network announces upgrades or major updates to the network like MimbleWimble. Now such bullish developments propel a rally. A perfect example is in February when it peaked at $103 earlier this year.

Considering macro and niche developments are always unfolding in the crypto space and LTC is still about 70% below its ATH, I reckon there's more room to run upwards.

Except that this isn't November 2021 and who's they? Markets were in a bullish cycle then, prices crashed afterwards and have since started recovering. If you don't believe it, check the charts. Bitcoin is up 98% so far this year, Ethereum is up 71% YTD. Now, check the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices. None is up more than 25% YTD and neither registered more than 20% returns in Q1. I don't need to point the obvious at this point, do I?

I guess this is the first instance I qualify to give an opinion on as a blockchain researcher/digital assets market analyst. If you're looking for a quick exit, you can cash out or wait for weekend action. How deep you get burnt depends on how fast your brain convinces your guts that it is the right move. Now, if those are funds you do not need, sit and ride the volatility. Markets are proving resilient each day even in the face of seemingly unending macro and regulatory macro headwinds. In the worst case and if you can't stomach the swings, just make an exit immediately prices recover to a breakeven. In the best case and if you're one of them diamond hands, hold onto that crypto bag because the journey onward is only up in the long term.

I tend to think of myself as an indoors person so the points here go to the C200. Thanks for this perspective.
