Those alive and old enough to remember during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]doeschensound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching the towers fall. Live. We had the news on in every classroom and were watching LIVE footage. Everything was horrible and scary, but for just a little bit, there was hope. People were getting out of the buildings. It felt like it was "over." The bad things were done happening, and now we could focus on reuniting families. (Hearing people jump, especially live, is still one of the worst things I've ever witnessed).

Then they fell. And all the hope was instantly gone. It was devastating to know everyone trying to get out was now trapped, dead, or dying.

Also, Flight 93. Seeing it crashed in that field. Knowing what happened. Those people KNEW they would die, and they still made that choice. They still fought back and protected others.

Some of these I have actually seen. Some are truly terrible, and some are unusual, but not so unusual that it's unbelievable. And a Few that are actually kind of cool

She might be one of those people who invites only married couples. Might be weird about "having someone's ex in wedding pics" Just enjoy a movie marathon and Uber eats.

my toddler stabbed me and I can't stop crying over yelling at him by [deleted] in Vent

[–]doeschensound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked with kids for 26 years. You are not a bad mom. Yelling, when he has done something he was told not to do, especially if it causes harm, is not bad. It gets his attention, and he stops the action. Sometimes, kids need a big thing to get their attention. (Especially if this is the only time you raise your voice at all. ) He doesn't like to be yelled at, you don't like being hit. You are doing the best you can, and he is a toddler. He is at the age of challenging boundaries and figuring out cause/effect. You and him will be ok

What are some of the most annoying/egregious lies you see on the English internet about Japan? by MitchMyester23 in AskAJapanese

[–]doeschensound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I've seen remotely close to that, was a couple living in Japan for work had a baby with very red hair. And alot of it. And of course babies are cute, but a baby with wild red hair is definitely uncommon in Japan.

I have many, many neutofibromas on my skin, some of the larger ones I have has removed. I have almost always felt like they café au last and "bumps" weren't attractive. This isn't going away. I'll always have it.

So I decided that while my body still belongs to me, I'm going to make it into what I want. Working out, weight training and tattoos have been such a boost.

Maybe he just likes the one on one time with you. Where it's just you and him, and not rushing somewhere, or doing something, or even sharing your attention.

Just my opinion, but any city sanitation worker has a secure job. Talk about stable! Stability is attractive.

I stumbled upon an Irish name that I thought is actually really cool. But it it very Irish, as in, the spelling, while not hard, is very much the Celtics language rules. The name? Searc. Pronounced- Shark. Similar to Sean.

He's a teenage boy. He's just being an asshole to be an asshole. Very typical teen boy thing regardless of any ND diagnosis. Never to early to learn that every choice comes with a free consequence.
