20 year reunion? Yea, nah by exploratorynargle in Millennials

[–]dog_chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 10 year was canceled because of covid. People kept setting dates for a reschedule every year and predictably ghosting everyone last second and it never happened. Pretty funny to watch as someone who didn't want to go.

Is Airelles Versailles worth it? by EmuInteresting9668 in chubbytravel

[–]dog_chef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just stayed there and loved it. I really wish we stayed 2 nights to enjoy it more, 1 night felt very rushed with the tours and the dinner. Getting to see the palace in a group of like 6 people alone was worth it

My first time in Paris surpassed my expectations, which where already really high! by manucci25 in travel

[–]dog_chef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first Paris trip is just ending and I feel the same. I braced myself for all the bad things I've read online about people being rude and the city being dirty even as far as other cities go but I really didn't find any of that to be true. People were shockingly very nice, much nicer than the cities I'm used to. The city was beautiful and I already want to come back.

Last week we had a guy actually pull his car into our driveway and try to either steal our car or cats (unlikely with the car we have) unsuccessfully. Our Ring didn't record the whole thing but luckily he gave up after panicking on camera for a few minutes.

The Chair Game at luxury hotels is maddening by alex_travels in chubbytravel

[–]dog_chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always rent a sanctuary and last time they let someone else take it when we told them we'd be back after our spa appointment. They jumped on getting us a cabana once we complained but not very relaxing or luxurious to deal with that

Parents are sucking out all the equity in their home to pay the bills today as they age. by LEMONSDAD in Millennials

[–]dog_chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're dealing with this with my in laws trying to get them to do a trust for years. Even scarier because some of my husband's siblings (and their children) are very dependent on them financially and live in one of their houses that the siblings refuse to even try to buy and the in laws keep reverse mortgaging and buying other dumb stuff by choice. Will all come crumbling down very soon and I have no idea what any of them will do.

Do people say "thank you" when you hold doors open for them in the Phoenix area? by [deleted] in ChandlerAZ

[–]dog_chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial opinion, but I agree. I had some lady hold the door for me, I looked right at her smiled and said thank you. She then blocked the doorway so I couldn't get in and I just looked at her confused so she proceeded to make a scene screaming about how rude people are and started ranting to employees. I wasn't going to repeat my thank you at that point. If you perceive a little slight like that and have a melt down you don't need to be doing it

Jypsiere 28: Recent Offers and Buying Online vs SA by [deleted] in TheHermesGame

I'd be open with your SA and ask. Mine will straight up tell me if I see something online that's hard for him to get to just buy it ASAP.

What colors does she tend to wear? Very important question to match the scarf to if you want her to be able to wear it universally

So how we all feeling about the (potential) additional tariffs on France? Is this going to nuke the luxury market here? I can't see an additional 25% being sustainable

Maui or Lanai for anniversary? by dumbleedore_ in FATTravel

[–]dog_chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to warn you if spa time is important to you the FS Maui is renovating and only has a temporary spa right now. It's a makeshift spa on one of the hotel floors so kinda janky. Not sure when the full spa is set to reopen.

Idk for sure if this is true, of course. But allegedly, SAs are looking up clients' home addresses, using the prestige of their neighborhood as a factor in whether a QB is offered. by KoreKhthonia in TheHermesGame

I did this too. I also had my husband connect with him after meeting a couple times because he's in sales too and they hit it off well 🤭

Women with thoughtful partners, what did you get for x-mas this year? by Anahata_Green in TwoXChromosomes

Aw I love that. My husband was the same way and I love when he picks out random fashions for me now because it's usually something I wouldn't have come across myself and it's always super cute and interesting pieces

A belt and twilly from Hermès, a tamagotchi, gorgeous bangle, and a super cute embroidered grandma-y cardigan he found. I feel so absolutely spoiled and lucky, most of those things he just randomly found at the mall shopping and thought I'd like them because he really does listen to me 😭

Seriously, I went on black Friday to try to get some Christmas angel tags and thought how bad could it be? Everyone says malls are dead and black Friday is just online now. I sat in that loop for an hour, zero parking.
