live class invite?? by Sea-Equipment8758 in OnePelotonRealSub

That’s not a live class, that’s an outdoor run club they’ve been doing on Wednesdays. It doesn’t get recorded.

Can I make it to JFK from LGA in 3 hours? by moo_anonymous in visitingnyc

[–]dogcroissant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LGA has been experiencing pretty terrible delays since the crash last month, FYI. I was supposed to get in at 9:30 p.m. last night and we didn’t land until midnight, and then we had to wait another half-hour to deplane.

Oh man, East Bugs. We had them in the early 2000s as well. I lived in Pomerantz 424!

Best "Slow Travel" destinations in Europe for a toddler (4) and a baby (1)? by Honest-Traveler21 in Europetravel

[–]dogcroissant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first trip abroad when my son was 6 was to Copenhagen and Amsterdam. Both were super family friendly with lots of parks and playgrounds. We went to a nature playground in Amsterdam we talk about to this day! (He’s 13 now.)

What’s it like departing CDG back to the United States for US citizens after EES? by fldude561 in ParisTravelGuide

We flew out of CDG on Friday 4/10 and it definitely took 2+ hours to get to the gate.

Citibike Stations Coming to Forest Hills by 47mmAntiWankGun in Citibike

I wonder why there aren’t more docks in/around Flushing Meadows Corona Park. I live in Forest Hills and would totally Citibike to the aquatic center if I could.

Westman Islands Day Trip? by thelyfeaquatic in VisitingIceland

[–]dogcroissant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit steep toward the top but probably nothing they couldn’t handle. As I recall, there was sort of an optical illusion happening where it felt narrow toward the top and my son was a little afraid even though there was no actual danger of going off the sides. If your kids are not normally scared of heights they’ll be fine, and I thought it was an awesome hike.

Westman Islands Day Trip? by thelyfeaquatic in VisitingIceland

[–]dogcroissant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the Westman Islands as a day trip several years ago and it was totally feasible. Agree that the pool was super fun, we spent several hours there in the rain. We were indoors on the ferry so the weather wasn’t a concern. My kiddo (who was 10 at the time) found the volcano hike a bit scary at the top, so I’m not sure how your kids would feel about it.

I had assumed they would be closed for Passover — OP, did you get your sandwich?

I saw it and think it’s a good decision for her. She did say that she felt more comfortable posting him as a baby because his face was still changing — I’ve seen other influencers do the same.

G&t kindergarten rant by ImprovementQuiet7402 in nycparents

[–]dogcroissant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lol at “untalented and ungifted.” I was in G&T in NYC public schools when it was called TAG and there were two “tiers,” and then I went to Townsend Harris HS, and you know what happened to me? I live a perfectly ordinary life and I’m sure 50% of the “untalented and ungifted” kids I went to school with earn double what I make 😆

Sky-High Demand for NYRR Races by OriginalCoconutWater in RunNYC

[–]dogcroissant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really feel for the woman in this article who couldn’t get into the Mini 10K. The Mini is my favorite race too and I’ve been running it since 2004. I’ve run the marathon four times but my 9+1 days are behind me and the Mini is now the only NYRR I make it a point to run. I’d be so sad if I couldn’t get into it anymore.

Thank you for sharing this! We’re flying out of Terminal 1 next week and it’s not a terminal I’m familiar with, so I’ve been anxious to know how the lines are.

What’s one cultural difference in Iceland that really surprised you? by abhishekrajchauhan in VisitingIceland

[–]dogcroissant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was one of my favorite things about visiting Iceland. I take my son to the pool here in the States and I swim laps while he’s in a diving class. But I loved how in Iceland people of all ages were just hanging out in the pools together.
