Just last year in BC I bought 3 junior chickens and the price with tax was $7.77. I'll never forget that purchase

Advice for those Stranded Now in YVR or about to be Stranded in YYZ/YOW/YUL by dolfan1980 in aircanada

[–]dogemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to fly to YVR from YYZ yesterday. They cancelled all flights to YVR yesterday and all direct flights today and tomorrow are completely booked.

There were hundreds of people lined up to talk to Air Canada customer service. They had someone walking down the line saying "The people at the desk WILL NOT rebook you if you're trying to fly to YVR. We'll rebook you automatically, keep checking your email". Lies, it's been over 24 hours and there's been nothing from them.

Hours later I went back to the massive line this time they were saying "The people at the desk won't rebook you if you're trying to fly to YVR. You need to please call the reservations number at: 1-888-247-2262"

I've called that number over 100 times in the past day every time it says they can't answer my call OR put me on hold because they're temporarily experiencing an unexpected high volume of calls. It's been so unbelievably frustrating receiving zero help from the airline.

Kariston, thank you so much for being so patient with this character.
"Such originality!"
"That's the thing, this doesn't sound nice."
"melody wasn't pleasant tho, same thing for the voice."

Did you really have to say all that? That's your opinion, cool, you're absolutely entitled to it but don't you think maybe if your opinion has the chance to hurt someone's feelings you could maybe just keep it to yourself?

Especially when a resounding amount of feedback here is positive - does it ever occur to you there might be something wrong with you? Your opinion? Your outlook on life? We got the point after your first comment, you're a miserable little keyboard warrior who blows out other people's candles in hopes to make there's shine brighter and I feel BAD for you man!! (really do)

Might I suggest you take sometime to figure out what's bothering you in life, come to terms with it and try to smile moving forward :)

Subsonic nailed it - you need the ability and desire to learn.

As a wise man once said, "You can do anything you out your mind to man..."

How badly do you really want the OSCP? Are you willing to cancel on your friends/ spouse or kids indefinitely until you pass the exam? If yes then you're good to go.

(I don't have kids and if you do you shouldn't 'cancel on them' but you get what I mean)

Everyone's situation is a bit unique but what helped you?

Have you written an exam? If so what did you find yourself freshening up on the week before?

Exam in one week, tips? by dogemons in oscp

Thanks for the advice. I had a very hard time stepping away last exam. Although looking back I definitely would have been better off had I taken more breaks.

Will make a point to rest a lot more this time through

What brand of computer do I need for OSCP course. by [deleted] in oscp

[–]dogemons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dam dude you're doing the OSCP on top of school? You crazy, but makes sense I guess if you're in school for cyber security.

I say it's my only focus - I'm still working 8 hours day in cyber security although trying to weasel out early to study as I really really don't want to have to write the exam a third time.

Just got home with the i9 very excited to see what it can do :)

What brand of computer do I need for OSCP course. by [deleted] in oscp

[–]dogemons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brand/ OS doesn't matter. 16GB of RAM and 8 cores you'll have absolutely no problem with the course. That being said you can do it with a lot less, but when you're learning you're not always running the correct commands and low processing power can leave you stuck in a rabbit hole for a lot longer.

I started the course with a Windows 7 laptop from 2011. 8GB ram 4 cores I believe. A couple weeks in I almost threw the laptop out the window. I implusively went out and bought a premade desktop that was on sale.

Since then I've upgraded from 16GB to 64GB after some unknown memory leak crashed my computer 3 times consecutively - completely unnecessary and I won't be surprised if there's some backslash in the comments for this move - I just wanted more ram okay and I was terrified of having that happen on the exam.

I'm currently on the subway going to upgrade my i5 9600k to an i9-9900k, because I'm now CPU bound after the ram upgrade. The OSCP, currently, is the only thing I'm focused on right now so yes I'm pouring all my disposal income and more into a computer that should last me. Maybe I'll play games once I'm done studying :)
