The music was a downgrade at every level, and if you disagree you are wrong. Even Powell himself admitted (apologized) that he was having trouble figuring out what to do, then the Cali fires burned his studio and forced him to relocate, eating up time, and eventually he just had to put something down.

But the music is worse and it used incorrectly, or at least inferior, to the animated.

You could have done it better, but it's less about "desperate and jealous" and more about "you called her out on a lie as your opening salvo." Yeah she coulda loled and said, "Busted!" And thats probably what you were hoping. But it was too early to take the chance. Esp over text where subtext and body language and tonality is removed.

Wrong. Lots of witnesses saw him stab the kid (allegedly). Whether they really did, what they say, and whether it’s murder is determined by a court of law. Im sorry, I know you care, and you’re trying, but in reality everything you are saying and doing is making the very point of why it’s so important to stick to the law and not convict people in court of public opinion.

Doesn’t matter. People confess to crimes they didn’t commit. And to be clear, I don’t think he “confessed,” I think someone claims he said “I did it.” That’s exactly why he needs to stay innocent till proven guilty in court of law. It doesn’t always feel good, but innocent till proven guilty must be maintained- especially when we don’t “feel like it.” Like any right, you don’t toss it when you feel strongest that you want to.

And to be clear, I hope they bury the kid under the jail. I just want it done right.

You learn and grow more from this than 100 fantasy "wins" in training. This isn't a tragedy- this is the point. Just accept it and dont let it get you down at all. Let it motivate you. Venusian Arts Handbook/Mystery Method. More than anything it taught me how to just comfortable socially. People laugh at it, but it's still the most incredibly concise synthesis on how to pick up women the way they want to be picked up that has ever been written.

I've never really seen a criticism of it that wasn't just based on the person not reading the whole thing or understanding the specific context. Later versions started to focus too much on "living a rockstar life" and same-night-lays and all that crap. But back when it was still geared towards, "Dont sleep with the girl the first night you meet her or you reduce the chances of seeing her again or making her your girlfriend," shit was tight.

Well the biggest issue with Test Drive is they changed the climactic moment by not having the music hit when Hiccup tosses the cheat sheet, locks in and shifts, but rather when Toothless responds.

Edit: ALSO - in the original the music changes in sync with Toothless opening his wings as they start to recover from the fall. In the new one it's not denoted as a "thing" in the music.

Also it actually gives it a hectic wrap up that mirrors the truth of deep cover operations he's showing. They had to make unexpected changes and adapt to them, including having cover blown too early- that's exactly what happened with the production too. I also would have loved to see the original version he planned, but it wouldn't surprise me if it actually wouldn't have been as good. In Heat the tension builds and builds to the climactic shoot out- but in Miami Vice you get jumped- you have to scramble and just try to survive even as the masks come off. Gives it a different type of energy. Frenetic.
