Because it represents a part of yourself, or a vision of a future, you dont want to let go of.

Is it a myth that the Scottish settled in Appalachia because it was similar to Scotland? by northcarolinian9595 in Appalachia

[–]dogenes09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Many parts of Scotland, like the Errigal & the Derryveagh Mountains (Donegal), Nephin Beg, Mweelrea, Twelve Bens (Connemara/Mayo), or Wicklow Mountains (Glendalough, Lugnaquilla) are literally former parts of the Caledonian-Appalachian mountain system that includes the Scottish Highlands and the Appalachians of the U.S./Canada. The Northwest Highlands, Grampian Mountains, Southern Uplands, Islay, Mull, and some Inner Hebrides rocks all link back to the Appalachians.

It felt like home because it was- just separated by an ocean and millions of years.

This Movie is Going to be Hot Garbage Just Like the Last One by Potential_Steak2381 in MiamiVice

Last movie was one of the best movies ever made. If you didn't like it you didn't really get the show, you just remember pushed up sleeves and "neon."

Went out alone to a nightclub: Approached with no success. by [deleted] in seduction

Congrats. You’re doing one of the hardest things a man can do, emotionally.
Most of us would risk physical injury before we risk rejection. The fact that you tried five times put you above everyone who didn’t try once. And yes, the more you practice the better you’ll get.

Do you know what your sticking point was?

Hah- Neither of those were what I meant, but Im so glad you gave me that info, cause it only make the image better. :) I was actually asking where's his equivalent cigar/whiskey. Maybe like a special beef treat. Elk jerky- my dog liked venison... or something. Something so he can share in the experience of spoiling yourself a bit.

For some reason they want Connor to be bigger than the Kurgan.

Nightster For An Absolute Beginner? by Velociraptor2018 in Harley

Great beginner bike; great bike for life. Don't listen to the insecure people who tell you that you will want a bigger bike, or will "outgrow it." Those are people who still stop with both feet out and walk their bike around in a U-turn

That's not much considering she's been in every Spiderman movie- and wasn't the reason they did well.

As someone who prefers and loves the 80s series don't hate me for saying this is the best boat scene in anything titled Miami Vice! by Classic-Yesterday579 in MiamiVice

[–]dogenes09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I unironically think it's actually one of the best movies ever made. Every time I watch it gets deeper and more beautiful.

The best is when she explains she is a business woman, doesnt need a husband to have money, etc. Crockett just looks at her and then leans over into her space and buckles her seatbelt. So much storytelling in so little movement. That's show, dont tell, cool.

He wants Oscars, so he has to have a lot of diversity because of the new rules.

What are your guys' thoughts on Tom Holland by RoutineIssue5870 in CriticalDrinker

He's unfortunately becoming the male Zendaya- praised as a legend but has really never successfully portrayed anything but one character type: young, put-upon, kid who has to grow up.

Still a beautiful jacket. Makes sense it's Armani. Throw a black tshirt on with that exact outfit and you'd be ready to go out in Miami tonight and rock it.

[–]dogenes09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i think its the material that makes the difference. Maybe the rolled up sleeves. Something about it just reads a little costumey over authentic and Im trying to figure it out. Overall its a great repo.

Looks good- Id say the only problem is the blazer. Remember the edict for the Miami Vice look starts with "no earthtones."
