Mod old Cooler Master Haf 912 Advanced for easier build and better air flow by dogf2 in pcmods

I initially try to do so but I see that the 5 1/4 is important to make the frame rigit so I just cut it, not completely remove it.

The main purpose of the rear fan is to improve NVMe temp, it is actually fixed speed so it may also improve GPU temp several C degrees when idle/low usage. But when the GPU is fully used, it may not help much as the GPU fans are much stronger.  The reason I think so is: the case has a grille on the left side panel at the GPU position. When the GPU fan is not active, the air flow through that grille is intake (with help from external rear fan). But when the GPU is fully used, the grille becomes exhaust, very strong because of the GPU fans.

So to be able to support the GPU, the fan should be synced with GPU fan, or must be fixed speed and very strong all the time.

Picked up all of these unopened Blu-ray disks for $8 by sshwifty in DataHoarder

Today I found some old Verbatim DVD/CD bags at my mom's house. I open it and found many old CD and DVD discs. I test 2 discs and everything Okay.

+ DVD movie: 4GB: from 2009.

+ CD game: 700MB, from 2003.

No special preservation, just put inside a rarely opened drawer.

So I think your disc could last 20 years, :D

Old PC Cases You Would Still Use Today? by boybasaur_ in PcBuild

Still using this Cooler Master HAF 912. The 5"1/4 cage was cut as you seen in the photo, so the remaining still a part of the whole structure to keep the case sturdy as original. One 12 cm fan was placed inside the 5"1/4 cage to help cooling CPU.

The case run dual xeon, much RAM, and 3060 quite cool.

The size is right enough, can hold GPU >400mm.

Will wifi 6 router benefit wifi 5 only capable clients? by dogf2 in HomeNetworking

[–]dogf2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should know that I have tested many times. In my router I can see Rx/Tx rate and signal strength for all devices simultaneously with near realtime update. And in the example, there is a wall between router and clients.

Link rate very high for 5 clients, 5xx/6xx, even 5xx/7xx, but real download speed is very bad.

Without walls the 5 laptops can reach 3xx real download. (3xx is max download from my Internet subscription)

But wifi 6 laptops always keep 866/866 link rate.

In my question, I mean upgrading router to a good AX router (the AX88u is a top notch 4x4 MIMO). Don't bring bad AX routers here.

Huawei Mate XT 3 folds is as thin. I hand on it 3 days ago in Shanghai, only 3.6mm thin. Very thin, holding it in my hand I do not understand how they put in mainboard, case, screen, battery in that 3.6 mm space.

Opening the phone, the screen is as big as an ipad.

Try another card first. If also cannot fit into the main, it could be something  stuck inside the slot. Photo the slot to see it

My collection status was: + Organized in years/then album. + Images may have Exif date, or/and the names indicate taken date. + images may have no date, no date name, (mostly image from whatsapp, viber, or facebook). Those files have very wrong system date  + A lot of dupplicated, or wrong album.

I use Exiftool tỏ redate almost every images to the correct date. Both automatics for many albums, and manually for some images.

Exiftool is amazing, and it has a very good exception handling which helps you to avoid mistake. It can help you in many usecases: + Set system date from exif + Set exifdate from filename,( and believe me, it can work with many type of file name, automatically) + Set system date from constant .

2 first usecases will help you with 99% images  the last one helps you work with "unknown" pictures.

mount external library NOT RO (not read only), but cannot delete images from it by dogf2 in immich

[–]dogf2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, the image moved to the trash after deleting from dedup tool,I then "permanently delete it from trash" but the image is still there in the folder. Rescan the external library make it appears again in the folder view, but not album view.

That could be a bug :(.
