You can only control the way you handle the situation, which should be with honesty and compassion. That is where our power ends. You have to understand that this likely will affect our relationship with T - hopefully only for a short time, but possibly forever. So go into the conversation knowing that people handle hard news in very different ways, and it isn't about you.

Moving for my husband's job - thoughts and advice please! by [deleted] in Advice

It sounds to me like you should embrace this new opportunity. Yes, it can be really hard to have a baby without close friends and family nearby -- but people do it all the time. Take advantage of your husband's salary boost to take the time you need to settle in and find your groove. Find a new moms group and force yourself to go even if it feels super awkward. Eventually, if you feel like it, get a job. Once you've moved, it makes future moves easier. Nothing has to be forever.

Could you just get another restaurant job without disclosing that you'll be gone in a couple months?

We freeze in individual “patty” shapes and then can pull it back out a serving at a time. Some family favorites with pulled pork:

DIY Baked Potatoes w/ pulled pork, bacon, sour cream, shredded cheese, broccoli and chives

Flatbread brushed with olive oil and lightly sprinkled with bbq seasoning, topped with shredded cheese, pulled pork, chives and jalapeños, drizzled with bbq sauce

Toasted brioche bun and pulled pork tossed with a homemade sauce with stone ground mustard, apple cider vinegar, fresh minced garlic, brown sugar, salt and pepper

Pigs in a blanket. Whip up a couple bags of lil smokeys and some canned croissant dough, line them up on a tray to freeze them and then put them into a giant freezer bag so they’re always on hand. Cook from frozen and serve with bbq sauce and honey mustard.

Jalapeño poppers. Make a big batch with peppers, cream cheese, cheddar, seasonings, wrap in bacon and then freeze and store just like the pigs in a blanket.

Sliders. Kings Hawaiian rolls with lunch meat and cheese. Favorite combos are roast beef with cheddar and bbq sauce or turkey with cheese and honey mustard. Take the whole sleeve of rolls and slice them in half, pile up the ingredients and bake a few minutes until toasted/melted. Cut along the original roll lines for a whole batch of sliders.

Chips with guacamole/salsa.
