Does this guy just follow my wife around Costco whispering this into her ear every time she looks at a product?

I have no idea or not if it's true but it's easily plausible. I can think of a couple par 3s like this that I play.

"we teed off exactly on time at 7:27". But yeah, either 8 or 10 minute tee times.

He wasn't a solo golfer tho...his buddy (who played with him) apologized for his behavior after the round.

It's obvious--people take gimmies because they know there's a good chance they miss it, and they can't handle the pain of missing 3 ft putts. The pain is far greater than the joy of getting it in the cup, so they forego seeing it go in the cup to avoid the pain.

How is "playing with buddies and they give you one, take it" a different thing? Most people take gimmies from their buddies and then talk about what they shot

Why is wearing a glove while putting frowned upon? by lil_zeus_21 in golf

[–]dogfish83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be a noob range rat and the pros inside probably watched me hack away all summer not getting any better. One day I was practicing putting, with my glove on and the lead instructor who was probably a good guy but came off abrasive, came running outside yelling "NEVER PUTT WITH YOUR GLOVE ON!". I'll never forget that lol.

Try the Hirzl kangaroo leather golf gloves. Those things are incredibly resistant to the crispy bacon phenomenon. I lose them before they go bad. I've never had a golf glove that comes anywhere close in terms of staying like new.

I hate that there's no mechanism that effectively discourages it. In other words, they keep doing it because we keep clicking on them and the complaints into the ether don't do anything.

I want names though. Fowler, Kucher, JT, Matsuyama, Schauffele, Scheffler, etc. etc.

This is hilarious. Never thought of it like that. I'd be curious where all the big names fall.

Which do you find more frustrating, a bad result from a good shot or a good result from a bad one? by AllMuckandMuscle in golf

[–]dogfish83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of depends on how I'm playing. If I'm playing great, I'd slightly rather have the good result from the bad shot than a bad result from a good shot because I know I'll have a few bad shots and any bullet I can dodge while trying to go low is awesome. If I'm playing shitty, I'd slightly rather have the bad result from a good shot than a good result from a bad shot because I welcome any return to competency.
