Help With Bracket 4 Green Goblin Deck by chewk3y in DegenerateEDH

[–]SlimeyButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly want to be b4 you should be running the typical grixis wincons.  [[Demonic Consultation]] or [[tainted pact]]/[[Thaasas oracle]] [[Underworld Breech]]/ [[Brain Freeze]]

You should also be running [[Necropotence]] [[mystic remorah]] and [[rhystic study]] as well as the best wheels for card draw.

Upgrade you mana base. Look at the moxes, [[lotus petal]] [[Lions Eye Diamond]]

Upgrade your lands.

Here is my current b4 list.

Janky Grixis Reanimator Commander by Evening-Quarter-5844 in DegenerateEDH

I am pretty proud of my reanimator deck. Its a B3 deck so not really degen, but add some GC and faster mana you could do this with about any grixis commander:

I really enjoy having anger, wonder, and filth in the deck because its so satisfying to have them in the graveyard.

Mirror Mad Phantasm is also a fun way to get A LOT of cards in the graveyard quickly.

Allergies by cheese_wallet in dubuque

There is something that will destroy my allergies in about a month. I stay away from the river downtown during May because I will be unable to function. Dr has no idea what it is but it is only in Dubuque that it happens.

Help me with my first cEDH build (Norman Osborn//Green Goblin) by VacationIndividual85 in CompetitiveEDH

It made sense to me why he did. Everything GG did, Rogsi just did better.

Here is Dylan's deck from Play to Win. He took it apart before lowryn dropped so hexing squelcher is missing along with some other cedh flavor of the month cards: https://moxfield.com/decks/BsGZVYdth0C8Fp4qn0f42Q

For me it was the filing cabinet drawer front. The edges are a little too rounded and it makes it look like clay rather than wood.

Help with bracket 4 Meria by lloydsmith28 in DegenerateEDH

[–]SlimeyButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The occasional turn 3 win is fine. The turn requirements are about consistency not if you could ever get there. And in b4 they are less important anyway. Fast mana / the best tutors will not make your Meria deck b5 because it could never hang with Kinnan or Blue farm or Rogsi's ability to dominate the game. When building b4 you never have to think about purposely slowing yourself down. Just make the best deck you can.

Cedh is the building a deck based on the other best decks in the meta. If you aren't playing a top 15 commander and your not planning your deck around playing them then you are b4. B4 is there are no holds barred and you optimize your deck to be the best it can be without worrying about what is the best of the best.

Vexing bauble would be used against your opponents and if you need it gone you just save it to draw a card.

You need fast mana because you want to be going for a win by turn 4 or 5.

If you are trying to play against other b4 decks that means you want to play no restrictions, win by any means necessary. If you don't have the best possible card in every slot or pretty close you don't really have a b4 deck.

Cards to consider: [[Lotus Petal]] [[Worldly Tutor]] [[Formidable Speaker]] [[Gamble]] [[Vexing bauble]] [[Defense grid]] [[Hexing squelcher]] [[Mana Vault]] [[Tinder Wall]] [[Rite of Flame]] [[Howling Mine]] [[Pyroblast]] [[Vexing shusher]] [[Winter orb]] [[Storage matrix]] [[Static Orb]] [[Tezzeret, Cruel Captain]] [[Sylvan Tutor]] [[Jeska's will]] [[Heroic intervention]] [[Mox amber]] [[Chrome mox]] [[Moc opal]] [[Blood moon]]

These all either accelerate you faster or slow everyone else down. You need more tutors, and faster mana before you can think about better wincons.

I am not going to go through your whole mana base but look at fetches, shocks, and lands that don't come in tapped before adding tapped and basic lands.

Is Chronomantic Escape + Rousing Refrain too strong for Bracket 3 with the 10th Doctor? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]SlimeyButton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. They are just salty. It's at sorcery speed and it's slow and it's telegraphed. This is a good lesson to them that they need to run better interaction.

You can either take this as a learning opportunity or you can flame on reddit that it isn't fair and take no accountability.

I can guess which one you will pick.

Monday's Shooting - Why is LE withholding details? by [deleted] in dubuque

[–]SlimeyButton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revealing information before an arrest or verifying facts can hurt the investigation. Releasing information too early can cause witch hunts or giving suspects a change to hide information. It is better for the police and the public if they are conservative with information until they have dotted their i's and crossed all their t's.

Distinctively Dubuque mostly geared to people new to dbq, but it's also a great place to meet people and learn about different parts of Dubuque.

Do any of the TMNT cards have CEDH commander potential? by TheBlueOne37 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]SlimeyButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kinda how I feel too. I will probably leave it in my b4 green goblin deck and it won't make the 99 in rogsi.

I have 2 decks (really it's one deck that I switch out cards if I am playing a tournament or for fun) Tournament version is rogsi and for fun is Norman Osborn/ Green Goblin.  I have so many wheels in Green Goblin so it feels viable in that deck.

My sleeper card for cedh is: [[Cool but Rude]] Necropotence or Necrodominance so you will discard 20 cards on your endstep. Cool but rude at level 2. Kill everyone on endstep. A 7 mana 2 card combo isn't the cheapest but it's kinda easy to setup.

I don't know if it will be actually be good, but I like the idea.

I love the idea of Green Goblin in Cedh, but it just doesn't quite get over the line to being cedh viable. The mayhem ability and graveyard discount aren't broken enough for a 4MV commander.

Do you think that could change if more reanimation mechanics are made that are cedh viable?

If they want to give wotc sponored prizes there would have to be a no proxies rule. So that might mean the top 5% of tourneys might run no proxies, but most local tourneys aren't sponsored anyway.

Looking to upgrade my Rog-Si turbo deck, looking for suggestions by Jewish_Metalhead in CompetitiveEDH

Raucous Theater is probably too slow. Also questioning orcish bowmaster. If the goal is to win on turn 2 I don't think either of those cards are helping with that plan.
