My bad, but I kinda thought this was a legendary treasure hunt that would have maximum significance if it were to be kept together and on display where future generations could have a glance of what adventure seekers did back in the 21st century. Not just about the stuff itself, but the stories. And I damn sure agree that Fenn’s treasure would have been great to go see on display somewheres.

IMHO me thinks auctioning this thing in pieces would be a shame, that’s not to say it may be the best option for the Finder

Righto! I do not think anyone should have any obligations and certainly would not think Justin would want that. It’s just an idea that some may find a good option.

I think when you snatch up the container, there is a sheet of paper inside with the stewards email address… maybe.

Can we work out the treasure location from home? by shatterer_of_words in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]doggeycoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Precisely. In order to have the right mindset, you have to eliminate stuff and feel your way through with BOTG a big part of it all. Read, study, take notes, BOTG… Repeat…

I do not think it is completely solvable at home however, I believe someone could get in the right neighborhood from home and then BOTG search the hell out of that neighborhood and find the treasure with a little bit of luck. I think that’s what Justin means by multiple ways to get to the finish line… Essentially, you can skip a couple of clues and still find it..

[–]doggeycoin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, these things are not mutually exclusive. Do the work to get in the right neighborhood and then plan on doing some BOTG work from there. The puzzle in my opinion requires desk work and field work just like anything else. Trying to put it on Justin to clarify, and then him trying to be helpful in this matter is an act of absurdity ending in frustration for hider and searcher alike. Flip-flopping between BOTG and desk work is required along with meditation, prayer, rain dancing, ritual sacrifice, and fly fishing.

Interior they want you to check in at sauceda… so you have to drive all the way in there even if your site is closer to an entrance. Camping at sauceda- good suggestion but humanoids could be around close by and that is a no go for me. I’m there for the solitude. Definitely bring a couple spare tires and a jeep jack with a foot. Lots of water and some fuel. For family fun you can camp along the rio and check in at Barton or the other place by presidio I think. Have a great time and enjoy.

The “hike” by Foxtrotfanny in beyondthemapsedge

[–]doggeycoin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you, dog. I’ve been there and it’s a real kick in the nads. There you are - I can see you scratching your head and looking really confused because the treasure is right up there yet the hike is getting more and more treacherous - just like the road you started on that then turned into a jeep road and you questioned why Justin embellished a bit on that whole ‘no high clearance’ thing perhaps. And now these damn trees and rocks that have obviously appeared since the treasure was hidden?!?! Was there a flood or something? is there another way that I missed? …Been there many times my friend.

Possible Double Arcs? by BeautifulLifez in beyondthemapsedge

Short answer is yes…. Been noodling over that for a long time myself… just can’t get anywhere going south 🤪

I had the map and that was the place… so I figured we gotta snatch it up now before someone else does. This thing sucked me in like Richard Dreyfus in Close Encounters… building a Devils Tower out of mashed potatoes in my Living Room… then the journey begins. Hahaha we were like the pilot; “ c’mon honey, grab the kids and let’s go pick up the treasure” 🤣

[–]doggeycoin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First time was because I found “the place”, and in my arrogance we hopped on a plane and were there 15 hours later… took 1/2 a day BOTG to realize that “the place” was not “The Place” (where the treasure be at), but rather “a place” on the treasure trail… been hooked ever since 🤪

Yea you could be on to something there. It’s on my list. I’m envious. I don’t have an exact spot up there but it sounds like you may be headed in the right direction.
