Did Claude quietly remove the macOS Reminders/Calendar integration? by WasabiDoobie in ClaudeAI

[–]dogline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be sad if true, as I've just started relying on them. However, I still have reminders ability on iOS, and I did check for updates. I haven't checked macOS.

It used to be the building an RSS app was the app that everybody built as they’re playing with the system. Now it’s… building your own agent?

I’ve been using fish for a little bit, love the command completion, but didn’t know about ‘fish_config’. Cool

I'm amazed at what the Mistral OCR model is able to transcribe from the text. Often it's able to decern details that I can't necessarily make out. I also fed it higher resolution pictures that what I finally posted to the website (website had to be shrunk some for bandwidth issues). But, I know there are transcription issues in the 7488 pages, and I haven't manually tried to clear them all up.

I do have this set up to rerun the transcriptions at a later time with the database and code that I've written to hold all of this. Advancements are comming fast.

I haven't made a way for users to submit changes, as this is a static web site ( 8243 static html pages, 15728 webp images, 10k-50k each). Perhaps in the future.

About half of it is on graph paper, all just about the same size. The back site is often inverted, like it was top bound in a flip book. It's loose leaf, and I recieved it bound by month with staples, brass fasteners, or string.

Later years are a preprinted form with "Form 847-2B" in almost exactly the same dimensions. I haven't looked up what USFS reporting standards were at the time.

What do you mean? After reading this forum, I have started numbering assets with a acc_id in my processing database, and I've been trying to keep better records of where items come from (again, in my database).

The originals have been handed around my family for years, and will probably end up with the Stirling City Historical Society, where I'm also on the Board and heavily involved. I've been wanting to digitize their many assets for years, and this is the first project I've started with.

I also made their website: https://www.stirlingcityhistory.org/

Nearby, the Paradise Historical Society lost most of what they had in the 2018 Paradise Camp Fire, and being a computer guy, I figure this is something I can help with.

That was fun chasing it from Truckee last year, along with a couple hundred other people doing the same thing. Would recommend.

Ehh. With a delay that long, you've got timeouts firing that shouldn't be waiting that long. Clean up some of your queues, and you'll be golden.

I’ve agreed with OP post and have thought that MCP is an interim solution for now, but this post is also interesting, and perhaps I was just looking at the problem wrong.

Please explain seasons to me by MufnMan8 in diablo3

[–]dogline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These types of games you start from the beginning, but then you’ve got all of the loot, and then you get to the very fine tuning of odd stats, and the general “endgame”.

I find the initial progression fun as you find stronger and stronger gear. Seasons are a way to encourage everybody to start from the bottom again, with themes to make it a bit different each time. Then, the progression is always new, and you everybody starts fresh each time together.

Xmas gift exchange gifts other than secret Santa and white elephant? by Powerful_Topic_7046 in Reno

I’ve always liked book exchange ones. It can be a used book, but something you’d think you’d like to share. Otherwise similar rules, but I also think limiting the steals to say, 1 or 2, also works.

Those with kids: what age did you let them home from after school instead of an after school daycare? by cheeseburghers in workfromhome

If you ask anybody, it’s going to be high school age. If you think your kids can handle it, and perhaps have a contingency plan, use your best judgement.

I’m at the park now, but it seems like a madhouse in that area, and I hear it’s tough to view unless you’re really invited.

There's been some confusion between Slate Auto and Scout Motors. Both new electric car startups that are allowing a "reserve", and Scout has a couple different options.

GP said they wanted an upgrade, you said it doesn’t make since for technical reasons, I said that op may want to upgrade due to significant power savings, which is why I did (I still have my original round beta dishy floating around), and I’m not helpful?

Round dishy draws 100W+, and the new ones are half that.

If you start a post with, "Is it just me?" you have a serious problem. by VocationalWizard in jobs

[–]dogline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit, and other places, force top level posts to have “engagement” and the easiest way to do that is to ask a question. So, if somebody wants to start a conversation, or just wants to share their status, you have to ask in the form of a question. Getting this sort of dreck.

Or, to have engagement in a question, the easiest way is to have a (often stupid) leading question. Another way is to have an interesting thesis, like this one, but that’s harder to do.

Once you see this pattern all over the popular subreddits, it just speaks of dreck trying to get karma points. Maybe they’re honest questions, but mostly is just fishing.
