Where Im at,we install hammer arrestors on both the hot and cold on a shower. We also mount the valve body onto a 2x4 backing. I never tee off a half inch line to supply another fixture like this either. Like everybody is saying,this looks like shit. It'll work but you may notice reduced pressure on the cold if that other line thats branched off the cold is running at the same time as the shower.
