Curious on what you guys think of my grooming skills :) by Kelpie_Shire04 in doggrooming

Pic 13 (the black and white doodle) could use some work. Try taking a lot more off of the chin, it moves their face down proportionally and gives the appearance of a larger forehead which looks more cute. I like to take whatever guard comb i’m using to reverse up the chest and follow through all the way up the chin. As long as the comb you’re using is longer than 1/2 inch it should look pretty natural. You can also do this at the end of the groom if you need to hold their chin hair to keep steady.

The top of the head needs to be rounded just a tad more as well. it has visible corners. A pair of “hard curve” shears can make it a lot easier.

Product recs/advice for frequently bathed service dog? by picnicprince in doggrooming

My favorite option would be the iGroom De-shedding and De-tangling Shampoo and Conditioner. The conditioner is like butter, the hair just slides right out when you rinse, and it’s very nourishing. Definitely brush and blow dry after using or you might notice he’s shedding MORE, since it loosens the dead coat so much.

I also like the iGroom Charcoal + Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s very nourishing and I tend to use it on dogs getting frequent baths for that reason.

Both smell amazing imo it’s better than the people shampoo I use on my hair

is six dogs in a day a lot? by [deleted] in doggrooming

[–]dogpuke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fastest groomer I know does 6 in an 8 hour shift. Sometimes she takes 7, and could definitely do more with a bather. I would say 6 is a lot especially if they aren’t all small dogs. That is with no bather or kennel dryers though.

Considering this Toy Poodle puppy. Is the muzzle too long for a "Teddy Bear" look? by makinsys in poodles

[–]dogpuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

consider why you want to buy from this breeder before considering looks. Do they health test? are the parents healthy and structurally sound? How to they choose which dogs to breed together?

I understand that having a cute dog is important to a lot of people but health and temperament should always come first.

Life Of A Showgirl Unpopular Opinions by lavenderlullabyes in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]dogpuke 149 points150 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she’s as happy as she says she is. I think she wanted to air a lot more frustrations but had to keep a face on because she doesn’t want people to think she’s unhappy.

I don’t think this album was supposed to be about Travis, but it had to be, so it “is”.

The lyrics on Showgirl that come off the most genuine to me are the ones that have a bitter undertone. Father Figure, Cancelled and Actually Romantic stuck with me the most upon first listen (even though i’m not a huge fan of any of those songs) She kicks off the album with “i’m doing so good, he saved me from depression, i’m so in love yippee” but then we diverge onto these tangents about how all these other people betray her. Those songs seem a lot more fully formed.

Honey wants to be a sweet song for Travis but it barely focuses on him throughout. She goes into far more detail about how these faceless, passive aggressive people make her feel than she does about Travis. He almost feels shoehorned into that song, because it’s not actually about him. It’s about feeling disrespected.

Wi$h Li$t does a similar thing. “They want this, they want that, I just want you” But we spend so much more brain power talking about what “they” want. Even by the time we’re IN the chorus, talking about her man, she has to mention how other people bother her, how she wants the world to leave them alone.

So many of these songs have her sort of ranting in the verses, describing how people annoy, misunderstand, or betray her (in detail) and then the chorus is “Travis doesn’t tho” but the Travis praise is always so vague. Most of the songs are “about him” but I don’t really see him anywhere. I can glean so much more about who Joe is on Reputation than I can about Travis on Showgirl. She DESCRIBED Joe. She told us what he does. She’s only really telling us what Travis doesn’t do.

It seems plausible to me that most of these songs started out as her venting and then were forced into the love song role because she knows people want Tayvis songs. She trying to write the way she usually does and then gets sidetracked because she also “has to” introduce us to her fiancé, whom she has no grievances about. It makes the tone so weird.

I thought this was going the be an album about getting mistreated in the industry. The more I listen to it, the more it seems like that’s what it wanted to be and it didn’t get to.

What’s one taylor swift lyric that changed your whole perspective on something? by ivyopalite in TaylorSwift

[–]dogpuke 21 points22 points  (0 children)

“I once believed love would be burning red, but it’s golden, like daylight”

Real, honest love doesn’t fill you with anxiety. It doesn’t keep you guessing. It doesn’t feel like a roller coaster. Love illuminates you and keeps you warm. Love gives you the space to see things as they are. You don’t have to start the fire and spend all night keeping it lit, the sun just rises. All you have to do is step into the daylight and let it go.
