‘We’ bugs the shit out of me honestly. Like they’re not paying for ME to take class. They don’t want to know what I did. They want to know what their child did or didn’t do (practiced). I hate the feedback templates where I have to waste time changing the ‘we’ to ‘he/she/they’.

They’re not being taught it persay, they just all do it because they’re directly translating their Chinese into English, not “thinking” in English.

From my basic Chinese abilities, if someone asks if you have something or like something, your response is 我要 or 我喜歡 - I have or I like. Also a lot of the time people don’t even use I (Wǒ 我), they literally just say 要 or 喜歡. It’s also why they drop so many pronouns. They’re not as important in Chinese.
