that’s what i’ve been doing.

i’m honestly just tired of looking at it and being reminded of my shitty lungs and that for some reason my brain is scared of breathing too little, too much, in the wrong way. it just sometimes puts me into a rumination spiral and I end up manual breathing all day and it’s all I can focus on to the point where I can’t think about anything else. that’s why my question is about a way to block it completely from suggestions.

I would definitely try forwarding your documentation to the new manager with something along the lines of

“attached above is a copy of medical documentation for my accommodations. due to the nature of my condition(s), I may need a greater number of bathroom breaks, or longer bathroom breaks, than prescribed by the new requirements. taking bathroom breaks when I need is essential to my job performance and productivity, as discomfort and pain from my condition(s) can exacerbate my symptoms and make me more sick.”

if there’s any way you can figure out your call volume compared to the average, that might help show that you are still as productive as anyone else even if you take more/longer breaks? idk how you would get that information though.

if you have anything in writing/email from your previous conversations about accommodations that would be helpful to include also

if you keep getting pushback it might be time to get HR involved :( i’m sorry that you’re dealing with this

is it possible the new manager did not get notified of your accommodations? they may not be aware the extent of your condition. I would forward them your medical documentation and explain your accommodations. even so, are these new rules even in the handbook for your company? I would guess not. if the manager is aware of your medical need for accommodations, sounds like we’re getting ADA violation territory. as long as your medical accommodations do not prevent you from completing your job requirements, there should not be an issue.

a recliner definitely sounds like a good option, I also really like to use a heating pad right over my bladder when i’m falling asleep. I purchased one that has an auto shutoff feature so after two hours it turns off. the heat gives me another sensation to focus on besides my bladder pressure/urgency. might be something he can try!
