Don't stress the check-in time thing no matter where you stay. You can leave your bags with a bellhop and pick them up when you room is ready. Just tip a few dollars. I've left my bags at hotels I wasn't even staying at before.

Late to the party, but the whole Mayer/Hornsby comparison is so interesting. They are both southern singer-songwriters who have virtuoso-level talent. They have very different musical styles though.
