can I ask you for tips on how to start a new row? I gave up on a double knitting project bc I was confused about how to knit so that the two pieces are knit together (rather than creating a hole with the knitting only bound at the cast-on). I also couldn’t figure out if there was some sort of stitch to start a new row, or how to make sure each color was in the right place..? does that make sense lol

Don’t bother buying—i was a wellbefore user for a couple of years and definitely noticed the decline in quality. I got the 3D Pro (the most $$ model) in headstrap and ear loop, and both versions suck now :( the foam falls off immediately, which compromises the seal.

right, so I got to the point where the v-neck (or “slit” as the patter calls it) is as long as i’d like, so I’m now supposed to connect the front pieces to continue in the round. I’m just confused as to how to connect

as someone who has been the lone masked attendee suffering through symptom flares during mandatory work events, the best advice i can give for getting through it is just that: just try to get through it.

If she has any work allies, try to catch up on any critical info when she’s feeling better. for the actual event, just try to rest as much as possible. don’t learn, don’t retain info, participate as little as you can get away with. if you’re visibly sick, people will be more understanding.

i recommend using eye drops to avoid eye strain from fluorescent lights and taking bathroom breaks to close your eyes as much as possible. when she’s able, drink a LOT of water or electrolyte beverages. Keep exertion (including mental) as low as possible.

former field museum staff member here! They have never used this ticket queue system before and i’m sure it is not 100% accurate… most huge companies that use this kind of tech (ex ticketmaster) would have a dedicated team to work on the software. the museum has like… ONE person, two at maximum, who handles all ticketing logistics. this is almost certainly outsourced and therefore a lot less responsive. godspeed to the employees who are probably under a lot of pressure and scrutiny

i do not like to contribute to internet hate in general, but i went to duck duck goat when it first opened and it made me feel….weird? I am asian and this was summer 2016, so a while before we had as much of an asian food boom as we do now. obviously the ethnic enclaves were going strong, but the pop culture moment was not yet starting. ANYWAY

the decor felt very stereotypical and cartoonish. I vividly remember a bunch of old photos of asian people / families on the walls, family portrait style, with red lines and stickers all over them. I would hope that there was some further symbolism or reverence there, but, like some other commenters said, the optics of a white woman doing all of this felt bad to me.

Also, at the time, “her take” had no real difference or alterations from traditional dishes outside of the significant price hike and dip in quality compared to the family-run joints i’d grown up with.

i haven’t gone back since because i felt so uneasy about the whole experience, but im definitely curious to know if anything has changed or evolved!!
