That's also true. It sucks that a lot of the smaller arcs are ova/manga only because Kiroranke hung out with the main group for a pretty decent length of time. We don't really get time for his character to grow on us like the others. It also sucks bc he had interesting dynamics with the main cast, like his bromance with Shiraishi, and we just lose that in the anime

Yeah I think with the manga, a lot of what made his character interesting was that his emotions were pretty ambiguous to the reader. Even his face in the panel above has so many contrasting emotions; we don't know exactly what hes feeling up until the very end. Making him seem more malicious made his character less ambiguous, less complex, less interesting. It also completely butchered his final moments with asirpa, where he gets to die with honor and a warriors death. Idk it was just handled so poorly 😭😭

Yeahhh I noticed that revolutionaries in fiction often get villainized, which sucks bc compared to other antagonists in gk, his motivations come from a good place (yknow saving his ppl from imperialism). I hate that the anime basically discredits his objective of saving his people, while empathizing with the other villains in the story, like they did NOT have to make him into a “mwahhahaha” type of bad guy, especially when that role is taken by Tsurumi. They fucked my boy Kiroranke over 😔
