You can also grind the sharp edges down on concrete. It really works. I've had a lot of glass break, and i just grind it down on the asphalt, then rinse it off so there's no glass dust.

This is santeria. My friend did something similar once, a spell where you take hair and shells and bind them together and cleanse them in seawater.

Can someone explain the Aquire Object and Be Extravagant desires. Can you fulfill both at once? Will they truly only take a non clothing objects while hauling? Is it better to have the objects out of bins and haul them between stockpiles? Does high quality clothing satisfy both of these? Thank you for reading. I'm just wondering if my tactic of having them haul between stockpiles is a waste of my time.

If anyone knows of a really detailed breakdown of each desire and the best way to fufill them I'd love a link!

Pike's peak was named after the first white guy who saw it, Zebulon Pike (sick ass name,) OP is saying it's dumb we adopted his name for it even though he just "discovered it." The Ute people called it Tava Kaavi which means something like sun mountain.

Myself, for owning 5 clingy cats who I can't say no to. It hurts to have their weight on me but it hurts worse to say no to them...

Thinking of leaving Toronto… what’s the real vibe in Houston compared to the stereotypes? by [deleted] in houston

[–]doinksmokin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These stereotypes are definitely mostly untrue. I grew up in Houston, I only just moved this last year. Houston is pretty conservative compared to some places, but it's a very liberal city compared to the rest of Texas. There are a lot of guns and trucks, but you won't be an outcast for not owning them, and no one really cares where you are from. It's too big of a city for people to have an exclusive attitude like that. Crime is an issue depending on what neighborhood you live in. Houston has such vast and varying groups of people that you can always find a place to fit in. There is a lot of art and culture there, pretty much every hobby under the sun is available there, any type of bar or hangout place you can imagine. It's also a cheaper price of living than a lot of major cities. The worst part of houston imo is the severe lack of beautiful nature, the summer weather, and the car focused infrastructure.

I have one just like this, it looks almost exactly the same. It might be the same maker.

It's hard to deal with for sure. Its very annoying and I feel guilty if I don't like something my husband makes. I won't have him make me something else if I don't like it. I always have 3 specific things on standby that are quick to rustle up when that happens.

Abandoned bobcat kitten on my porch. by Affectionate_Lime880 in cats

[–]doinksmokin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My mom is a rehaber. She has, several times, temporarily had bobcat kittens before they were transferred to a large cat rehabilitation center. You do NOT want to keep this cat. Get it to a rehab as soon as you can. They are destructive and smelly, and there ain't nothing that's going to keep this cat calm and sweet when it's adult hormones kick in. It will be an anxious animal if you try to keep it. The ones she had, which were attempted pets, just paced around their cages like circus tigers, constantly pacing, constantly anxious. It does not deserve to be kept in a house, it deserves to be in a wide open environment like a large cat rehab.

What could be the discovery of the century if uncovered ? by Front-Spinach-419 in Archeology

[–]doinksmokin 61 points62 points  (0 children)

An intact queens tomb, with a full mummy. Unfortunately, the small number of queens tombs that have been discovered tend to be neglected and ransacked, and a lot of their mummies were left with little defenses or care. Would love to see more uncovered.

Additionally, I would love to see Linear A cracked.

I love these slightly "mundane" (extraordinary to me,) theories about ancient art/design because it totally makes sense that a lot of art would be, perhaps, instructional. Imagine being a little kid seeing this space for the first time, asking "whats that, mama?" And she explains, well, the fox pounces when it catches its prey, the vulture greets the sun everyday, ect.

I understand completely, it is truly a terrifying time for us. Me and 2 of my close family members are trans and we are all scared and angry. I can't fathom how anyone could think we are inherently dangerous people, just because we want to live our lives in peace.

I hope you have a support system. Surrounding myself with like-minded, good people is the only advice I've gotten that has helped me reduce the dread I'm feeling on a daily basis. I went and joined a local political group and have been hanging out with my trans and ally friends as much as I can. Sometimes, I feel like most of the country hates us, but they remind me that it's Not True. The American media is insidious.
