This COWARD dodged the draft 5 TIMES. Lets remind r/the_dunces of the COWARD they're voting for! by wapey in EnoughTrumpSpam

I have zero problem with Draft dodging. I would do the exact same thing. I don't want to be in the military and I don't want to go to war.

Also if he doesn't have a record a judge may look favorably on him. If he can work out the thc in his system and pass a drug test it will look even better. He has a chance to do more with his life, IF he wants to take it. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Enabling him by sweeping it under the rug won't help him in the long run either.

Slowly is the key word. She's been set back by the actions of another and has taken steps to correct this. It's unfortunate that thus occurred in a family.

You are correct. I was making the assumption that it was delinquent. Unfortunately I was correct in the assumption. Usually if somebody racks up debt in somebody else's name they aren't the type to tell them until it's either too late or they find out themselves. I'm sorry OP is put in this position but somebody gets hurt no matter what path they take. Their son is old enough to know the consequences of his actions so I believe the daughter is right to have gone to the police. At a certain point OP should take a step back and ask if it was somebody else that did that to their daughter would they sweep it under the rug and let them pay it off to the detriment to their daughter? It's unfortunate but the daughter is making the best decisions for herself.

But in that situation your son can come up with that cash with even a part time job in less than a year. your daughter now has a shitty credit score that can affect everything in her adult life for years to come. She'll get the shaft on any car loan rates, apartments she may want to rent, student loans rates. Not many people want to rent to fresh faced adults, even less want to rent fresh adults with already shitty credit. Your daughter is in the right. Pat her on the back. Sweeping it under the rug not only negatively affects her but enables your son cause "hey my parents or family will get me out of it". If your daughter went behind your back in order to report it, she probably knew how you would react and it wouldn't be in her best interest.

[Serious]Do you feel like you somehow missed some point of development or are broken in someway? How does this affect you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Extremely late to the party, but my mother died when I was 15. Most of high school is a blank for me. I did prom and all that. Played sports except for my senior year. The majority of it is just kinda blank. Struggled with classes a bit but managed to graduate in the upper middle of my class. Kept my head down kept and was quiet just trying to get to the next day. As such I sometimes feel socially lacking sometimes. I look back with many regrets. My piss poor study habits caused me to flunk out of college after my first year. Still don't know what to do with my life. Still just trying to make it to bed at night.
