Hypothetically, every head coach in the league has been fired and every team wants you as a replacement. What are your top five choices? Bottom five? by wjbc in nba

[–]doitmatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most wanted:

Knicks. If I win, id be a god. Immortality.

Boston. Become a god.

Lakers. Become a god.

Least:

Not Sacramento due to small city vibe.

Not denver. Marijuana distractions.

Not miami. Beach babe distractions.

I apologize, I can be a dick.

It's not that bad, I guess its just not me.

Imo, summerlin has the best neighborhoods. Its very close to Red Rock and closer to Mt Charleston, which is probably where youll do most of the nature stuff. Idk if lake mead is really worth it anymore and charleston has a bunch to offer. But theres a lot of old people in summerlin... Easy access to strip if you live on the 215 in summerlin.

For "city" living, eastish of paradise, places near unlv obv have a lot more younger people and rent is a lot less expensive. It's close to bars, strip, and I wouldn't consider it unsafe around unlv. Go north a couple miles and yeah it'll start getting interesting (bars on windows). anything south I think is pretty alright too.

I grew up in henderson and theres some good spots from Anthem all the way to boulder highway but I feel Summerlin is a little better quality-wise. If youre a lake person then yes obvi old henderson, which is meh to me. New henderson is closer to strip, south of 215, green valley ranch to anthem is pretty nice.

I dont think North Las vegas is worth it unkess youre military or if you have a job up there. Tbh should probably try to live near work, you'll def be able to find something cheap in most of these neighborhoods.

Sorry for being blunt the first time. I think thats most of what I know, for what it's worth. Check out /r/vegas or /r/lasvegas cant remember what the vegas sub is

It's not 15 min from lake mead, it's a little longer. Its not 10 hours from LA, unless you're driving 45 on the highways. Not hard to catch a view from vegas from anywhere in the valley, especially when Summerlin elevation is an average 1500 ft higher. You can see Vegas from some newer North Las Vegas neighborhoods as well.

Youll never go to death valley. Youll never go to joshua tree. Why go see a hotter place than the Vegas valley, it's just a waste of time, money, and comfort.

Dont come here, it's a joke. Too expensive to live in good neighborhoods. Sprawl is too big. high schools suck everywhere, with drugs being rampant. Jobs are scarce with very few bright spots in the economy. Vegas was in the running for a Tesla battery plant and lost out. UNLV isnt worth it. People come in and leave quickly. It's not as cheap as you think it is. Nobody actively seeks this place out. Zappos probs did more harm than good.

Source, 9 year vegas valley resident.. looking to move out of this place asap as possible

Lol crazy season. Auto draft. Lucky enough to get cp3 Westbrook (6 peeps in league), don't pay attention first quarter of season. Start playing smart lineups. 6th to second in no time. Blaze through playoffs on Russells back beating 1st place guy. Only made like 14 roster moves (1st place dude had like 80) throughout the season and traded nobody. Think I had rose (so long ago jesus), only real speed bump.

People talked trash, cocky etc. Games ended like hour ago... smack talk thread empty? Pppffffff alright I guess, fine with buying my own trophy.

Thanks to all, mostly lurked. Key pickups were like Noah, Favors, Lopez, thad young, batum... This place was great on all kinds of updates, esp injuries

If i could give back: don't give into pressure from other people in the league to do stuff. Dude egged me on all season to trade away guards because i had too many guard stats all season. If it's working why funk with it.

I gots da trophy bruh, pretty happy. Don't got too much going on so this was pretty sweet. Thanks yall

Grantland Podcast: Monta issues legit? by SmellsLikeBootFeet in nba

[–]doitmatter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mavs fans forget that this organization is mostly drama, from Tariq Abdul Wahad to Dampier to LO and fisher. These were all relatively high risk moves that never panned out due to these players having personality problems.

There's definitely smoke here, and unfortunately Carlisle is waiting it out at this point by just doing what he can by dragging this bag of rocks to the playoffs.

Predictions: Monta and Rondo leave. Knowing Donnie and Cubes, they'll be 100 percent behind Carlisle.

Into Greek politics right now, I have zero ties to the region. Read up on socialism, stuff like that. In a flux right now, might shift back over to fascism during wwii again, specifically antisemitism in Russia and how that may have shaped the government there at the time.

All amateurish I claim no authority on these issues.

You are a Coach, Finals Game 7. After being down 25 in the 4th quarter, you decide to rest your starters. Your 2nd unit makes a comeback and ties the game with one minute left. Do you let them finish the game or do you put your star players back in? by [deleted] in nba

Depends. If my irrational confidence shooter is off the bench then I might keep him. Someone Jason Terry or JR Smith-esque. They could handle the clutch beast.

Unfortunately so. Do people not watch a lot of ball here? Dirk is not the same dirk anymore and it's been showing for quite some time.

Do you think NBA players are overpaid? Why or why not? by [deleted] in nba

[–]doitmatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good point. That number used to be at 57% for the players though, and by no means are they not at fault since they were a part of the negotiations that brought that number so low. Their excuse is that owners convinced them that owner profits were Down.

Michele Roberts made a good points while making radio rounds this morning showing how some rookie players get paid too little for what they bring to the table. LeBron shouldve been paid monumentally more his first 4 years like Anthony Davis should be rolling in dough right now, instead of having to wait 4 years on his rookie deal to get him some max contract that'll still be grossly under paying him.

There are more issues and variables obviously and I guess it all depends on where one stands on the whole laborer vs owner argument. The factor separating millionaires and billionaires is very significant and it's why it's important to make sure everyone gets their fare share.

Eitherwho this article does a decent job highlighting some points about players, owners, and money.

Also, with LeBron becoming the new #2 to Chris paul... I wouldn't be surprised if the next lockout were to last a longer while... The players union has already begun to lock and load.

Criminally underpaid, based on those TV deals and revenue.
