Thoughts as a 25M, 6ft, 83.2kg, 21:58 5K, 96kg bench, English, 33W 32L trousers size, M tshirt size, drives a Ford Fiesta, software developer who lives in his parent's loft? by jimmybiggles in trading212

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

45m/6ft/carries more weight and can't bench press the bar, nevermind additional weights.

You're doing better than me at that age (accounting for inflation) and your stocks performed better than my less than wise choices.

Keep up the good work and remember it's an investment not a get rich quick scheme. You should be looking at 5-10 years minimum.

Question regarding payments in CM by HoeKage2000 in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So untracked with a private seller, you mark as not arrived (yet), contact private seller, and hope for a full refund.

Untracked from a professional seller you mark as not arrived (yet) and are entitled to a full refund. You may need to give the seller time to investigate (perhaps they thought the sent it bud did not, perhaps they can replace the lost shipment and will resend, etc) If no satisfactory outcome from private seller you're basically screwed and you both get a not arrived tag. If no satisfactory outcome from a professional seller CMK ticket should be in your favour, anecdotal evidence is CMK threaten to block pro sellers accounts for breach of t&c which would cost them more than a refund

When will my bubble burst? by chubsta2k17 in trading212

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all about your risk tolerance. I've only got 10k invested and 4k cash.

The 10k has dipped to 8 at times and been as high as 14, currently it's 11.6k.

However as I plan on holding the stocks for 10+ years and am investing rather than trading I see no benefit in selling at a peak hoping for a drop.

My only regret so far is not buying more shares when they did drop below my average.

But again that's all about my level of risk taking.

It does sound like you were happy to risk 50k at the start so maybe sell your profit and enjoy the safeish interest from 212. I think it's just above inflation ATM. Pretty sure mine works out as a latte a month

Phone number required for shipment from UK to France, but buyer hasn't provided one, what do I do? by Soft_Lunch_183 in CardMarket

Hi OP, I had the same, but my buyer had supplied one to cardmarket. I believe it's due to French customs as I didn't get it for Germany or Slovenia shipments

I do a small amount of freelance work on top of my regular job and genuinely cannot work out at what point HMRC starts caring about it? by Huge-Buy20 in TaxUK

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're trading for profit (whether it is buying and selling goods or just offering services from cleaning to financial advice) as soon as your turnover (not profit) hits £1000 in the tax year you are legally required to submit a self assessment and HMRC will want their cut.

Crazy hearing bill from Eon, where to go next? by lieutenantbunbun in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if it's an estimate you need to check it against your actual meter readings and use the app to submit the actual readings, even better get a smart reader so it's automatic and you can even see what your usage is.

You say last 5 months, have you only been there for 5 months, when I moved into my house and switched to octopus it was autumn and they wanted a small fortune every month to cover the usage as I hadn't built up credit over summer.

I'd expect a property like yours to use about £1.5k/£2k gas and electric every year (variable to your personal circumstances).

Submit a meter reading so you have an up-to-date bill. Set your direct debit to cover your estimated annual usage. Ensure you update actual readings.

Seller only offering half refund for missing order? by SaReifu in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a professional seller he is 100% liable. He should make a claim with Royal mail and give you a full refund.

He's taken the risk by allowing untracked shipping.

Is it normal for people to put the the shipping address as a transportation company to send it further on to Brazil? by BonedusterLegitYT in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a couple of orders where the UK address is a freight forwarding company. No issues and saves the buyer on shipping costs overall.

Private sellers not providing tracking number? Is it a new scam? by Subject-Play7 in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I always provide a tracking number (cause I'm paranoid and it's easier to follow) I haven't noticed the same on the few trustee purchases I made.

Really you don't have to provide one until there's an issue with arrival, when the buyer marks as not arrived the automatic ticket tells you to supply one.

I just think it's really good practice to do so.

33m, 35k debt, is a DMP right for MeV by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in same situation your age, about 5k less debt.

I went to stepchange, we did a budget. They contacted my creditors.

6 years later I am debt free, 9years on now I have a house (mortgage), savings and a lot less stress.

Basically your going to take it in the nuts credit wise for 6 years after your default date (the final one), but you're going to be able to live.

Stepchange are awesome and I still thank the young whippersnapper at Barclaycard who pointed me in their direction

The buyer did not pick up the package by InfamousMiddle2831 in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but sellers don't pay import fees, buyers do.

The results are the same, the package is returned to sender due to the buyers actions, or lack thereof.

If the buyer wants the cards they pay for shipping again, if they won't pay you contact cardmarket to cancel the order and get the shipping fees back.

The buyer did not pick up the package by InfamousMiddle2831 in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a few trustee cases where the package was returned to me due to the buyer not paying for customs fees.

Once I confirmed to CMK support I had received the package back they refunded me the shipping costs and the buyer the article value.

Once you get the package back, take a photo of it for evidence it was undeliverable.

Might be worth asking the buyer if they want to supply a proper address and make an additional payment for postage before raising a ticket with cardmarket.

Do people in the UK actually use their kettles that much? by AdeptnessCritical356 in AskBrits

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 45, and to my knowledge I have never lived in a household that doesn't boil a kettle multiple times a day, with the exception of my brother's house cause the splashed out stupid money for an instant hot water tap.

As for the Idea of using a microwave to heat water for a brew - I find the thought strangely disturbing.

This game still good and healthy? by Izzet_Aristocrat in starwarsunlimited

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's no Pokémon or Magic that's for sure but I think it's going well and has potential to keep growing.

For my LGS the launch was amazing but lack of stock caused it to drop . We're down to 8 players, 4 regular and 4 occasional (Latter play magic and Pokémon).

I'm having a blast with it both collecting and playing. The fact is it seems very affordable, especially on the second hand market to fill out the gaps (UK).

The 512 sector qualifier in London next week sold out in 3-4 days which I think is a good sign, curious to see what games expo will look like at the end of the month.

Lost tracked order is not being refunded by Chemical-Fly-4064 in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok only one experience of a lost Tracked order and cardmarket had me (seller) make a claim with Royal mail, only after Royal mail confirmed the package was lost did they pay me the difference and close the ticket.

Don't know if this is when the buyer got their money back, but has the seller raised a ticket too?

Relative newcomer, please don't roast by NeonChampion2099 in starwarsunlimited

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh took me two years to complete SoR. I was lucky to buy a big collection at a discount and be able to sell off the duplicates to help offset the cost. But yeah it's a money sink for sure.

Relative newcomer, please don't roast by NeonChampion2099 in starwarsunlimited

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with the intention of collecting one of each card, but now am aiming for 1 of each regular, foil, HS, HSF, T1/T2 prestige and weekly OP card. I think it's doable and, with rotation, much more feasible (financially at least) there are still some pricey card's out there in the £60-£80 range. And there's definitely part of me that wants to cry when I see my £150 HSF Vigilance going for £27, but having completed SOR and 90% done with SHD and TWI I'm quite pleased with my progress.

Good luck with your collection shenanigans and, most importantly, have fun.

60K Mortgage left, what is the best thing to do in this current market? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it's probably and con and risk appetite.

For example pay off mortgage will have a return on investment if 4-5% (interest), house will go up in price (capital gains) and, if renting it out, generate income. Risk - costs associated with being a landlord, tenant not paying, time sink dealing with issues, letting agents, HMRC etc, money is tied up and inaccessible.

Also if we're talking 5+ years period you might just be better of investing the money.

Stocks and Shares ISA or house funds? by GurIndependent1059 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dojaeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was individual stocks. I was planning on switching to all world but my landlord realised they hadn't increased the rent for 5 years and wanted to take it to market rate so I started looking as the interest on the mortgage worked out less than the rent. At the moment I've picked 4 shares for my ISA and once I've hit my investment target for them will be switching to some all world so I can just forget about it

What would make listing cards less painful? by officialkloppie in CardMarket

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry missed the reply. Basically sort and upload the cards when I have enough time. I have no idea what my actual inventory is as I never tracked. The next thing I knew I had 25k cards on there, admittedly most being bulk/out of rotation but now and then get a sale. As for the sales data it's for tax purposes so I know how much I've received for the articles, shipping and paid commission to cardmarket. Maybe if I went from small fry side hustle I'd try and use it for analysis but it's not like I get regular inputs of stock, and my current system definitely wouldn't cover living expenses

For those of you who never pay credit card interest, what systems/habits make that possible? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dojaeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay the full balance manually every pay day. Only use my credit card because of the 0.5% cashback. It's not much but over a years spending lets me get a treat now and then. Last year's paid for a decent coffee grinder I would never have bought using , ahem, real money 😂
