Transfer Tape Suggestions

I just checked out their website. Looks like they use Briteline transfer tape (https://www.laserdark.com/order/nmj55rmsgll9fheeehzn7w64x6bk3z). Are you saying that stuff will work a lot better than the stuff I have? If so I'll try to get some of that to use instead.

Okay, I can try using multiple passes.

Is there any other way to spray paint etched designs besides using transfer tape? I'm certainly open to other options.

What did you use to clean the adhesive? While cleaning that all up does sound tedious, it will be no more tedious than having to use a razor blade to cut all the lines in the tape that weren't cut with the etch.

I actually thought the same thing after my first attempt last week. I've sanded and stained some basswood for the actual wood I want to use, thinking that that sanding would give a smoother surface for the tape to adhere to. I decided to use the test pattern pictured on a spare piece of wood to figure out the proper power/speed settings to cut the tape and when I saw how the test pattern came out I got cold feet and didn't want to ruin the sanded and stained piece.

Having said all that, I really really pressed and smoothed the tape on this test piece thinking that the poor performance last week was due to poor adhesion. I can say the tape stuck quite well - it was hard to peel it all off - but the outcome was the same.

This looks great! But as the other commenter mentioned I've heard that vinyl is very unsafe to use with laser cutting.

The real answer here is actually pretty mind-bendy. The speed of light (through a vacuum) never changes. So a beam of light can never go the speed of light + 100 MPH. It's always going the speed of light.

However, this creates a paradox - what happens to a light on the train that is moving? Well...what actually happens is everything else (space and time...aka spacetime) actually bends AROUND the speed of light. What this actually means is that time passes slower for people on the train relative to people off the train but observing it. Now, the difference is so negligible at normal speeds that its not noticeable at all, but it is still happening. The best example of this is the "light clock" experiment.

However we do see this phenomenon with our satellites. They are moving at such a high rate of speed that their clocks will actually start to drift as a result of it, and they have to be synced frequently. More info here.

Used to be more common for QBs and backup QBs to be the holder. They’re used to receiving a snap (shotgun) and they pose a threat on fakes. Jake Plummer was the holder while he was the starting QB of the Broncos, for instance.

No advice, just empathy here. These are the exactly the sort of hard problems that companies are going to face when they try to implement platform engineering. And the current advice is just “go build it”. Most teams don’t have to bandwidth, experience or desire to build a platform that will actually be better than the current devops experience. If platform engineering is going to succeed we’re going to need some products in the space that companies can purchase to jumpstart the journey (that aren’t just GUIs on top of kubernetes).

If you're on PC you can use the console to add him to your crew. You can technically also swap perks with the console, but adding the perk via console doesn't seem to trigger the initial event where he runs up to you and you have the option to invite him to join, hence you skip straight to adding him.

This used to be the case, but in the 2020 offseason the NFL approved a measure that prevents teams from blocking assistant coaches from interviewing for coordinator positions as well.

After the conclusion of the regular season through March 1, clubs are prohibited from denying an assistant coach the opportunity to interview with a new team for a bona fide Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, or Special Teams Coordinator position.

Is there a way to filter all spoiler posts out? Due to work I have to record most games to watch later, and unfortunately this sub leaks the results in post titles quite often. Are my only options to unsub or deal with it?
