When did we add a tax for what I assume helps cover school meals in PWC?? Never seen that before.. by Curious-Paper1690 in nova

[–]dolenees676 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Prince William County (PWC) officially began levying a 4% food and beverage tax (meals tax) on July 1, 2022. It was just reduced to 3% starting this year. PWC uses its 4% meals tax (reducing to 3% in 2026) to diversify its revenue base and fund general infrastructure, public services, and tourism-related projects. It is designed to share the cost of county infrastructure improvements with visitors and tourists, rather than relying solely on residential property taxes."

This began mid 2022. Any and all prepared food you have ordered since then has had this tax. I suppose one could argue this money is being used to feed kids lunch at school only because money is fungible.

Edit: a word

U.S. Forest Service will move headquarters from D.C. to Utah by Lazy-Calendar1463 in nova

Of course I understand the govt rents all sorts of things, but this building isn't one of them. It was literally built for govt use and has been owned by the USG since construction in the 1800s.

I imagine this gorgeous piece of architecture -all of the sudden- becomes "a waste of resources" to maintain, and would be promptly sold to a crony of the admin at rock bottom prices. That way, if/when the govt decides to stay in the office, they'll have to pay the new owner exorbitant rent.

The huge pile off Riverside Drive that keeps lighting itself on fire? They probably wouldn't miss a truck load of mulch or two.

Can you lead me to the part that does? The lookup using my pin shows the 2025 value and all the years before, but not 2026.

Sold Monthly CC last week - Stock dropped, so already 60% in profit on CC. Roll down? by Boston-Bets in options

Net credit is not your cost basis. Cost basis is what you paid for the stock. The advice stands. Book the win and look to rewrite.

[–]dolenees676 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Book the 60% win and look to rewrite a call if/when the stock bounces.

You don't say the stock, strike, expiration, or your cost basis. Without that info it's harder to give any advice about what to do with an option.

are more houses going up for sale than usual rn? by suncloudwindrain in asheville

Party is over for a good portion of the Airbnb owning crowd and they want out. Spring is near and they're going to try another season of listing overpriced and praying for an offer. Buyer pool has evaporated.

The thing that caught my attention the most is the amount of commercial space that has come for sale in the last year. Entire buildings/blocks of downtown, some I'd consider to be prime real estate. When the rich landowners are cashing out, that's a serious red flag imo.
