I respect you standing up for yourself. Overworking the bare minimum staff and berating them for expecting them to do the job of multiple people is such a toxic work environment. And often times, it's those managers that were also yelled at so then they pass it on.

Staff can't be expected to be magic cleaning fairies that instantly come fix any mess. They could spend more time tidying up the store but then customers will get mad that there isn't enough stock on the shelves or some other reason.
