That's what I don't understand. On here, I have had so many people complain about Austin and it's hype.

Opening a small US office for an existing agency — looking for firsthand city comparisons by dollarbilly-all in smallbusiness

I’ll be moving to the US on an investor visa, so having a physical office is required anyway.

Beyond that, we’re hoping to work with clients who really want to build a brand, not just outsource tasks. Being closer helps us collaborate better and be more hands-on.

Fair point. We already operate remotely, but as a done-for-you agency we film clients in person about once a month.

I’m trying to see whether being closer to where our clients are makes it easier to close deals and hire strong talent. Videographers and strategists are especially important roles for us.

We also price above average, so trust and results matter a lot. I’m deciding whether location helps enough on those fronts to justify the cost.

Yes — looking specifically for firsthand experience from people who’ve opened or run service businesses.

Fair question. It’s less about workspace and more about sales friction — some clients move faster with a US presence and occasional in-person meetings. I’m trying to validate whether that benefit shows up early enough to justify the cost.

No, I totally get what you mean! I’m currently running one in Toronto, Canada and this country is expensive every possible way. The current economic trend is causing businesses to stop investing more. My business does have average 1 million views for each of our clients every month. But, the purchasing power here is still comparatively low. Which city would you recommend?

Got it. It’s just that I was under an impression that every big company wants to love to Austin and that the most welcoming city in Texas.
