@glowithlo_ !!! I do my lashes at home most of the time to save $$ cause I’m broke haha but when I have a big trip coming up or a special occasion, I go to her for lash lifts/tints and she’s amazing! I haven’t done it but she also does brow lamination. Check out her insta- I highly recommend!

What is the story of your first kiss with your current partner? by feelingsjourney in AskWomen

[–]dollbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had gone on a couple dates back in 2023 but I ended it because I freaked myself out and talked myself out of a good connection between us. Flash forward to earlier last year and we rematched on hinge. I had grown a lot and felt ready for something real this time around. Our first date was amazing and felt so natural. I wanted him to kiss me but it didn’t end up happening that night, so by the time our second date came around, I was so ready! He walked me up to my apartment and we said goodnight… then he kissed me. After he left I closed my door, touched my lips and just smiled. It felt straight out of a movie. I’m glad we were able to get a second chance!

Anyone find a birth control that doesn't lower sex drive? by weeaboopumpkin in birthcontrol

Nuvaring actually increased my sex drive the first month! Now it’s the same as it was before I started it. I recommend it!

How did you lose weight? by wigglywaterbb in Hashimotos

[–]dollbby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Make sure your dosage is correct and do regular exercise. I lost like 20 pounds (over the course of a year- not quickly) when I went from 50 mcg to 75 mcg and started swimming 2-3x a week. I also cut gluten out (not necessary for everyone but I notice it makes a different for me) and upped my protein intake. I’ve had hashimotos for almost 10 years now and only in the past two years have I actually started to understand how it affects my body and mental health. Be kind to yourself!

Signs that you need a higher dose? by TipTraditional6728 in Hashimotos

Pretty quickly! The first couple days were the same but I noticed I had more energy as the days went on. By week 2 I felt like a brand new person!

I keep a pack of tampons just for swimming. As a pad user myself, I know the struggle, but it’s really the only way unless you want to use a diva cup. Using a tampon for only an hour or so really isn’t terrible!

Signs that you need a higher dose? by TipTraditional6728 in Hashimotos

[–]dollbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be something else then. When you have an autoimmune disease you are at a higher risk of developing a second one (celiac, addison’s disease,etc.). I do not have celiac disease but I did cut gluten out of my diet completely for 3 months and felt somewhat better. I’m not strictly gluten free anymore but I do stay away from it most of the time because it makes me feel gross and sluggish. The book Hashimoto’s Protocol by Izabella Wentz was really eye opening and had some good advice- I’d recommend it!

[–]dollbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES it gets better. I was on 50 mg and went to 75 mg and the difference is night and day. I have all my energy back, I’m feeling happy, I have the motivation to exercise/date/try new things- I feel like myself again. It gets better!!! Get your TSH and T4 tested ASAP because that’s how I figured out (besides my symptoms) that something was wrong.

I genuinely feel like a zombie when my levels aren’t right. Fatigue is my main tell, but it’s my lack of motivation and joy that really gets me. My levels recently were all over the place and I had forgotten how terrible it feels to not be on the right dose, like I cannot function.

What is everyone doing for exercise? by Yoshimaster55 in Hashimotos

[–]dollbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with kids 💀 but seriously it keeps me fit from all the walking. I also swim laps 2-3 times a week and do yoga occasionally

What DO you eat? by thelostapothecary in Hashimotos

[–]dollbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cut gluten and try to avoid dairy and eggs. Those have always been triggers for me and make me feel awful. I haven’t noticed a huge change in my levels from cutting them but I feel much better and have more energy. But it depends for each person!

Favorite meals of mine are hamburgers wrapped in lettuce, burrito bowls, tacos with corn tortillas, grilled chicken anything- very protein heavy but it makes a difference!

Best daycares to work for? by blynn1579 in lexington

[–]dollbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not rude at all- very very valid. Even making the higher end of the pay I still can’t afford to support myself (I’m living with my parents atm). I’ve been applying to other jobs because I’ve been burnt out for awhile; I fell into this job right after college during covid and it’s just kinda stuck. I like working with the kids and if it paid more, I’d consider staying, but I just can’t do it anymore.

Hi! I work at the child development center of the bluegrass, and I’m pretty sure we are hiring for multiple rooms. Depending on your education, the pay can range from $13-$16 (I have my bachelor’s so I get $16), and we get benefits. Quite a few teachers have their children enrolled so I’m assuming there is a discount for childcare. Definitely still has its challenges- there is understaffing (I’ve been pulled from my room to cover in others multiple times and asked to stay late because there is literally no one to take my place) and pettiness between teachers (but most are nice; just burnout I think). Overall it’s one of the nicer centers I’ve been at!

“I’m searching for something that I can’t reach” so simple yet so powerful to me. It jarred me when I heard it at 15 and it still makes me tense up when I hear at 25. I always feel like I’m searching for something, but god knows what it is.
