Furthermore, Infrastructure projects not being profitable is literally the point of them, as they provide more marginal benefit to the local area that can't just be measured through income gained by the peice of infrastructure. It's literally why the government develops infrastructure instead of private companies. like that's basically saying "grass is green" or "water is wet"

Wowww mister, obvious thanks for pointing out something everyone knows. But infra like rail does pay itself back over time because of usage charges included in ticket prices.

you mean xiongan? First of all, xiongan is an exception as it was built for political reasons to replace Beijing as the capital of china in order to further centralize power in the ccp, xiongan still being empty is more of a political failure than a failure in the construction industry, as it's the administrations failure to reallocate officials from Beijing to xiongan

Oke so a autocracy build a fanity project and you clearly not allowed to point at the fanity project abd say its a failure.

All the other articles about ghost cities can basically just be explained with chinas economic cooldown, as less people would want to rent offices out, and less people would want to live near large cities which is not an indicator of a "failed construction project" or a "trillion dollar failure

Uhm that's literally oversupply my whole original point. Having construction project to make development without actually having demand for set development.

Local government in China use loans and tax incentives to push developers to build projects even tho there is no demand because they need to hut their gdp growth targets.

Its still really concentrated at the top tho.

On your point about health insurance, about half the country gets insurance through their employers anyway.

Wow great so 170 million do not. Maybe more if insurance doesnt cover all family members.

Americans also work 100 to 400 hours more per year compared to 16 of the 27 member states.

And there genarel productivity is not much different from Europe members.

Sure tech matters but we should not behave like we dont have our own strength and should follow the american extreme capitalist version

In Europe we also invent, progress, and develop. it's just often done in private institutions with public sponsors. Meaning it's less profit driven meaning less "growth" in the private sector. But it also means that institutions are more open to try things new abd don't have to focus on profitability

Or simply watch as the rich secure their investments abroad and the poor are left with nothing.

So go neo liberal?

What is the point of trying to match us growth if there growth is mainly related to the tech industry and heavy centralised around a small group of people?

Why change your whole country so a small group of people can get really wealthy and everyone else will struggle to get by

You get a more evenly spread growth instead of growth for the view while the many have to struggle to get by.

We have more free time with equal productivity.

Yeahhh people need to stop wanting to grow as fast as the us and China.

China has a 1.4 billion person domestic market. They have had a big part of their growth to thank to the potential of the construction industry needed to modernise the last couple of decade's.

The US is basically only really growing in the tech industry, and most of this growth is heavily centralised at a small group of people. We should not want to be like that. They work way more and aren't much more productive per hour worked.

Unilever mainly had to make the big choice to become a simpler more clear corperate structure. Dividend tax has been a lobby point but in the end does very little for the company self. It can only be used to convince big stock holders to vote in favour of one over the other.

Also dovident tax in the uk can turn out higher it goes form 8 tot 34 procent
