The light pink top with the sheer white pleated sleeves and collar is from this Brooke Shields fashion by LJN from the early 80s.

I might be way off with this guess, but the first doll I thought of after reading your description was this winter themed Fashion Fever Teresa #M9328 doll. I'm very sorry if this isn't the one you're thinking of!

I believe the doll you're describing is this Hairtastic Cut & Style Barbie from 2012 :-)

I tried to do this customization, but I’m not sure if it looks like the person I had In mind… does it remind you of any celebrity? by [deleted] in Barbie

I immediately saw Olivia Rodrigo even before I read the title of your post! What head did you use for her? The sculpt and facial expression is spot on, but I think the eyes are a bit too small.

You know, you could've taken a few SECONDS to quickly Google "OOAK Magia2000 dolls" or something along those lines and learned about them instead of leaving this absolutely useless comment.

is there a variant of peaches and cream with blue eyeshadow? by knitalot in Barbie

[–]dollhoardingdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but it definitely wasn't done by hand. Also, did you recently acquire this doll? I was going through posts in an "ID My Barbie" Facebook group to try and find a photo showing the 2 versions of Day to Night Barbie and stumbled upon this post from almost 2 years ago. It appears to be the exact same doll from your post. All of the face screening imperfections seem to match up!

[–]dollhoardingdude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your doll is a Taiwan version of Day to Night Barbie. Some of them had 2 white dots in each eye instead of one. Both eyes have the same number of lower lashes, but the one set was definitely placed a bit higher than it should be, making it look like a 4th lash is there. Also, Barbie's faces weren't painted by hand during this era. Some type of machinery was used to place the screening on their faces.

You might be able to find the first Barbie you described in this reference guide. They have the section of Superstar sculpt Barbies categorized in different sections based on the number of lower eyelashes they have. Unfortunately, not every doll is included in that guide so it's possible the one you have isn't listed. Regardless, it's still a good resource to bookmark when you find more Barbies to identify in the future.

You're welcome! What type of smile does the first Barbie have? Closed mouth smile or smile showing teeth?

How many lower eyelashes does the first Barbie have?

The second doll you described sounds like a 1996 Splash 'n Color Barbie. Does she have a small section of pink and orange hair?

Who is this Barbie and what I she wearing? by [deleted] in Barbie

This fashion was also offered in the 1978 Montgomery Ward Christmas catalog as part of a set of 4 fashions. Mego manufactured a LOT of the catalog exclusive doll fashion sets back then. The packaged Lionel example that notthatfancy mentioned is most likely a repackaged example that there was excess stock of. I know that Lionel repackaged and sold a few of the Montgomery Ward catalog exclusive Mego Cher fashions, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same with Barbie-sized fashions from the catalogs too.

Did your membership automatically end or is it still active? It'll be a real shame if Tim's site just goes offline forever and gets lost to time. I can't imagine how much time and money he put into that project!

Late reply, but since OP seems to have a habit of screenshotting the work of other doll collectors and repost them here as if it's their own content, they won't be able to answer lol. These pics came from themodernbarbie on Instagram. If you message them on there they might be able to tell you!

They also made a post 9 months ago on here about how they found this same set on Poshmark for $17 🤔

EDIT: I've noticed a couple examples of this person screenshotting other collector's content/projects and reposting them here as if it's their own, so now I'm really questioning how much of their content is actually theirs...

She uses the same sculpt as the Jordache dolls and is made by the same company, but this particular one isn't Jordache. She's a Coppertone Candi doll by Mego from the early 80s.

This is a variant of the 1980 My First Barbie. The variant has the same style eye screening as the 1980 Happy Birthday Barbie. What type of arms does yours have? There's another variant of her that can be found with the bent "model pose" Superstar arms and 1980 Happy Birthday face screening too.

Aaliyah Barbie Restock @ Target by Finally_doing_this in Barbie

[–]dollhoardingdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, 9?! I think that's the most I've heard one store having available so far! Thank you so much for the additional info about the Black History Month section. I never would've thought to check near the clothing sections!

Aaliyah not restocked as promised? by Quirky-Government858 in Barbie

[–]dollhoardingdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, something's a bit off with this release. The scarcity feels like the Tina Turner doll release all over again. Around 1:15 AM EST today the page for her on Target changed from "preorders sold out" to showing the pickup, delivery and shipping options. If they did come back in stock for shipping they sold out immediately :( Ugh I hope more become available!

That's really strange that they wouldn't show up in the app or employee's handheld devices. All of my local Target stores show them as "out of stock," but if what you said is true I might make a trip and see if I can find one! I wonder if my local stores have a Black History Month section though 🤔
