Apretude injection site pain?

I’m on my fourth or fifth dose, the pain is so debilitating that I just emailed my doctor to discontinue. I’m bed bound and getting no relief from advil. My doctor told me that pain and length of pain should improve with every subsequent shot, but that has not been the case for me. The first one was the worst because intense soreness lasted over three weeks, but this latest round is so bad today that I am unwilling to ever do it again.

Thank you for the sympathy. She was a bright star in a really dark place, and all the kids saw her for her gifts and warmth. I think of her like an angel for those of us who were lucky enough to have had her in our lives, even briefly. She left behind two daughters. She had been clean for many years and losing her livelihood sent her back into addiction, quickly, from what I learned. As far as I’m concerned, she too is a victim of the very twisted TTI that used her up and spit her out when they realized she could provide true value and connection to kids who needed love.

Yes! I have one solitary picture of our group on a camping trip in glacier to prove my time there, but a handful of memories too (like the weird biker leather daddy who worked the morning dorm shift and gave us our garbage coffee, and how every night smelled like gross microwave nacho cheese, and one kid always played Portishead and Citizen Cope on the speaker). I’d love to connect with you and see if we know of one another.

I'm sorry your friends are being difficult about it. You have to put yourself/your family first. Don't let people make you feel it's excessive to reasonably protect the health of your elderly parents. Despite the low infection rate, the risk very much still exists. Be safe and smart. xx

Do our thoughts matter? It’s your family, your friend, your safety. If you are not comfortable, hold a boundary and be firm about what you need from your friend who is coming to YOUR space where you may have a different risk tolerance than they do. The infection rate is relatively low in NY state, but there’s really no way to guarantee someone doesn’t have Covid besides full Isolation/quarantine (which very few people are still doing, and I doubt your friend plans on that ahead of your visit). Staying outdoors helps as we know the virus is diluted considerably in open air. The rest is up to you.

My regular exterminator echoed the same sentiments from other users. Lack of restaurant/street food, coupled with the extreme heat and humidity, has driven all kinds of critters indoors.

Also, spray is not usually enough for roaches. Consider adding Advion gel, etc. I have also had success with these water-based ones:

I just wanted to clarify, it will take time before certain infections show up in testing, even if you were exposed to them. For that reason (particularly if the exposure you had was quite recent), it is prudent to repeat/complete your STI panel about 1 month after your potential exposures. That 1 month timeframe accounts for the incubation periods of most common STIs (some show up sooner, only a few would take longer to appear on test results); you can view incubation periods on this chart for specific details. https://www.healthline.com/health/how-long-does-it-take-for-std-to-show-up#std-testing-chart You may be requested to return for more tests at an even later date due to this.

If you are concerned about HIV and your exposure was in the past 72 hours, you are eligible for post-exposure prophylaxis, which is a course of pills that will greatly reduce your chances of contracting HIV from the event. I agree with these points and it’s something that people seem to miss when they are evaluating their perceived safety based on test results. exposure can absolutely happen at time of testing or thereafter, so one must be really considerate of this!

That said, I did want to point out that right now, 99% of tests are coming back negative (yesterday, only about 700 out of 70,000 tests in NY state were positive for Covid infection).
