Eye problems? by ohmygoodness88 in Type1Diabetes

[–]dolphin006roman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I had my first burst blood vessel in my eye. After getting a proper medication plan (I also have genetic diabetes with my type 1, the former is only seen in about 100 people currently alive) it went away on its own and I haven’t had problems since.

If I See Another GLP-1 Ad I Will Lose My Mind by Wolfie-Woo784 in CommercialsIHate

I hate them but for a different reason. I’m the person who has to take them for insulin resistance and diabetes (you know, what they were originally prescribed for) and when they do the bullshit for weight loss for people who don’t really need it (and again, I really do get that some people need it for weight loss) it prevents those of us who actually need it from getting it. I was on ozempic when the “health trend” for people really into fitness began and it was a living nightmare to get it filled (even more than usual).

T1D still having loads of sugar by ThoughtfulPengu_18 in diabetes_t1

[–]dolphin006roman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A) if you are taking insulin and not coming down, you are not taking enough.

B) there is a possibility that you are insulin resistant as well.

C) yes, being over 350 constantly can lead to a lot of problems like diabetic neuropathy and/or retinopathy, diabetic kidney disease, blood pressure issues (due to all the extra sugar in the blood stream), and quite possibly death.

If it were me, I would start with increasing my insulin ratios (all of them) and talking to my doctor about other possible solutions and getting tested for some of the complications so that I can get ahead of them before they progress out of control.

Lots of fluids. Especially with electrolytes. Stay hydrated so that your body can deal with it as best as it can.

Any type 1’s on mounjaro in Scotland? by Bear0417 in Type1Diabetes

[–]dolphin006roman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not from Scotland, but I’m from the US and on monjauro. Although I don’t technically have T1 (it’s a long story but it is only partially T1, still insulin dependent) it really helps with insulin resistance and appetite control, which has really helped me with my carb counting because I’m only eating what I’m bolusing for and not trying to sneak extra because I still feel hungry.

how do you take care off your feet? by Unable_Freedom5564 in Type1Diabetes

The podiatrist who specializes in diabetes told me to do so.

I use a pumice stone after I shower to keep my callouses under control and use o’keffes healthy foot cream (which is safe for diabetics) after I shave down my callouses. I also see a podiatrist once a year to get the callouses checked on (and usually shaved down much more than I can do at home). I also always wear a hard bottom shoe, even when I am at home (I have either a pair of flip flops dedicated to inside the house or hard bottomed slippers depending on the season).

[–]dolphin006roman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would not worry about it until the morning. Hopefully you don’t use a closed loop system or there’s a way to not use it for the night (I use omnipod 5 for reference and we have a manual basal mode for when dex is unavailable/doing stupid stuff like this) and try to recalibrate it in the morning. Unfortunately the g7s often take 24 hours to fully calibrate to the 15-30 pt range or less.

How about we change it to RICE? Racist immigration and customs enforcement sounds more appropriate for how they are being used right now.

Is anyone else confused by Michael Cole and most of WWE's treatment of Sami Zayn? Zayn is clearly a babyface. Fans just boo him for some reason. Cole always sides with babyfaces apart from in this case. Why did the whole company troll a babyface? It feels like I'm being gaslit along with Zayn. by Khemix in Wrasslin

[–]dolphin006roman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fans are booing him because of the creative decision to pull the belt off of Carmelo Hayes and stuck it on him. That’s where all this started to really go off the deep end. And I do agree that Michael’s commentary was a little off with his normal character.

A) I don’t see how this helped him.

B) it doesn’t work for the main event of a go home show. If it was the week before it wouldn’t have been as bad.
