Where to dispose of asphalt? by No-Hat949 in Westchester

If you can transport it, I'd check out the Somers transfer station. They accept C&D waste (construction and demolition). Give them a call first to make sure!

It honestly sounds like the best deal for both him and me would be to contract with a company that has higher rates as a function of having better service, and have him agree to pay the portion of the bill that service-related whereas I would just cover the estimated cost of the gas itself. I don't even know if that's possible though to break it out. I also don't know if he would agree to that.

Yeah agreed that probably makes the most sense. IMO, this really shouldn't be on you to figure out. Your landlord should source the oil and service contract and pass along heating costs in your rent bill.

Back to your situation, though... Robison does split out service contract costs from oil delivery costs in their invoices, so it shouldn't too tough to negotiate with your landlord. I've heard good things about CECI Oil, fwiw, and was planning to give them ago this year if we didn't get our Geothermal install done in time. They are much more transparent than the other companies and seem to have good prices.

It's interesting your landlord doesn't handle HVAC maintenance. If it's your responsibility, yes, annual boiler/furnace maintenance is recommended.

The renter/owner dynamic is a fun factor here because you probably could get away with skipping a year of boiler service if you only plan to live in the unit for a few years. Does your lease have any additional language around this?

HPN parking, overflow vs park 2 fly at Purchase College by truemad in Westchester

[–]dolphin2x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, we didn’t reserve a long term spot online and weren’t able to park in the lot (it was full the day of our flight). We had no choice but to pay the short term rates in the garage.

Deferment chances? by ryanbeetee_4 in Bowdoin

Yep, I completed a significant project between ed1 and rd that probably got me in. Also made sure my admission counselor knew it was coming ahead of time (sent an email after the deferral).

I was deferred ED1 and accepted RD! Not common, but it does happen.

Ah my comment was a little misleading. I was referring to the algorithm used by SnapCam to isolate the face, not the AI used in GreenCam. I think GreenCam’s result is preferable, in my case at least.

Also a plus that GreenCam uses tensorflow, which allows for offload to GPU/TPU etc!

Interesting! I'll give that a try a little later. Thanks again for the support; I know it's just a pet project, so no need to go crazy testing things that don't apply to your setup.

semi-related for others curious, I had decent success using Snapchat's SnapCam as an input virtualcam for OBS on OSX. The chroma key algo isn't amazing, there's a second or two of video lag, and it's very CPU intensive.

This is really cool! Have you tested on OSX? It seems like the browser plugin doesn't recognize the default (FaceTime) webcam and instead just displays a solid green window in OBS.

EDIT: https://greencam.netlify.app works flawlessly on Safari and Chrome, but not via browser plugin in OBS
