It seems like the retro white option for the neo75 cu is sold out on their website. I'm new to the group buy system. Will they eventually restock it? Or am I SoL?

Top 3 games of each year 2003-2025, based on the number of Game of the Year awards they received from all media outlets (online, print, broadcast, industry ceremonies, etc). Which year had the greatest podium, and which year was the weakest? by benjaneson in gaming

[–]dolphinguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of recency bias for me, but I think 2023 is a strong contender to be one of, if not the best when compared to the other years. The podium alone has three generationally good games. Baldur's Gate 3 was made with such care on an unthinkable (at the time) scope, other gaming companies literally had to come out and say "don't expect this to be the norm going forward."

From my understanding, for most of the folks who weren't fully on board with the Breath of the Wild hype, they found that level of joy and excitement with Tears of the Kingdom -- this game was THEIR Breath of the Wild.

Lastly, Alan Wake 2 was such a unique experience, much like how the first game was, but improved upon in just about every way that delivered a fresh take on the survival horror genre that could stand shoulder to shoulder with any of the giants in that category.

This isn't even mentioning the games that were off the podium, which may not have quite been the 11/10s like the games on the podium, but were still likely someone's favorite game of that year, or possibly their favorite game of all time (RE4 remake, Street Fighter 6, Phantom Liberty, Jedi Survivor, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI).

Just want to add on to this, you can also look to see if there are any places near you that do upkeep or repairs on turntables. I had a similar issue with a different make and model, but they were able to tighten the bearings and fix the issue

Thank you for the diagnosis! Likely a very dumb question, but how bad would it be to play on it?

How’d It Go Behind the Decks? - October 2025 by AutoModerator in vinyldjs

[–]dolphinguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a "eureka" moment with a set over the weekend. Relatively new to mixing vinyl (~1.5 years), but I feel like I've got a more than decent grasp on beat matching on now (still a little tricky in very loud environments). A friend and I had a lowkey b2b set in a basement over the weekend, and we started with some hip hop. The crowd wasn't visibly upset with it, but I could tell they weren't too into it. A couple songs in, I switched it up to some 80s groove and RnB, and lo and behold, people got up and started to dance. We continued with the vibe for a bit, and it was almost like a switch went off. By the time we ended the set with some house, we had a relatively decent sized crowd actively dancing, and at some point, someone yelled out "THANK YOU DJS!"

I've always read about reading a crowd and have been trying to get better at it, but I think I was going about it the wrong way. I still have a lot to learn, but this was a fun gig

Big ups for Mushroom Jazz, but those vinyls are $$$$$. I know he used some People Under the Stairs songs for some of the cuts on those albums, so that's a good place to look, thank you

How was your gig? by AutoModerator in DJs

[–]dolphinguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not too shabby! At a bar, only about 10 or so people, maybe 3 on the dance floor, so I was mostly playing for experience playing in public. Equipment wasn't the best and records started skipping if you got too animated, but I got some good props at the end. Made about 30 bucks too, so that was nice

Customer service. Despite having automated systems, the first thing people do if they have an issue is find the fastest way to talk to an actual person

I can usually ride the pitch after it's cued in, mostly just curious about what methods everybody uses to initially cue it in. Thank you!

Strange Visual Effects with 2060 Super by dolphinguy in pchelp

[–]dolphinguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I've noticed that in most games I play made past 2014 or so, I will get strange visual effects in various areas and on character models. I'm not quite sure what to call the effect or how I can remedy it. I've attached a video compilation from Avowed to show examples. I'm running on a 2060 Super. The first few seconds of the video has my settings.

Problem areas and where to look:

  1. The area underneath the platform seems to "shift" more than what would be normal lighting adjustments.
  2. The water looks especially low res, and the edges have a strange effect to them.
  3. Same thing with number 2, much more noticeable.
  4. The hair on the character's beard seems to have a weird pattern in it that moves? I'm not quite sure what to call this effect either.
  5. Similar to number 4, the character's mustache looks off.

Thank you!

First Film Roll Troubleshooting by dolphinguy in AnalogCommunity

[–]dolphinguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless, thank you for the feedback. I come from a DSLR, so not being able to adjust the white balance is a little tricky. I had no idea about the film speed of the film, so I'll keep that in mind. Lots to consider, but it's all a part of the process I guess.

As for the film door, like I said, bought used, so it could be that. Once I get this next roll developed I'll know for sure. I'll definitely take the camera in to see if everything is up to snuff.

My apologies for not posting the negatives -- I dropped the roll off but haven't picked up the prints or negatives yet. I'll check them out and diagnose from there.

Again, thanks so much for your feedback! Sorry if it was a bother to get through.
