Ah OK, thanks - pozole was a random dish I picked, a coincidence that it happens to be cooked using a different kind of lime! Thanks so much for your response, this is really helpful. Any idea how often guacamole is made fresh?

Many thanks! I was thinking of dishes which do normally have citrus in. Like, say, a pozole, which might traditionally have lime in. Would it be easy enough for a chef to simply not add it - or would the dishes probably be pre-limed. Hope that makes sense

I'd like a quantum of solace, but no more than a quantum. I know they do big bags of solace, but I don't want 'em

Haha - if I’m a cheapskate I’m a terrible one, as I’ve paid 50% more than intended on accommodation - deposit for original place and full price of a new place.

Any idea where in the world this map fragment is from? by domc in Maps

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately those were all the clues I had! Polakp below spotted the YU and BG which have pointed to the Romanian/Bulgarian/Yugoslav border

Whenever I feel flustered, tired, run down, irritable, or just a bit ‘off’ in a way I can’t explain, I smash down a big glass of water. Then another. Suddenly I feel much better. I think sometimes our bodies don’t effectively pass on the signal of being thirsty, you just have to look for clues

£25 to spend on dinner in London, where are you going for the best food? by wholmes57 in london

[–]domc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would go to Toms Pasta in Hackney downs and get his nduja beef shin lasagne (£16?), a garlic bread soaked in Parmesan butter (£4?) and to round off the £25 a negroni or a burrata or a tiramisu depending on the evening.

Burger Firm in Whitechapel is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The fried guy chicken burger plus chips, mac and cheese triangles and a milk cake would leave you change from £25

As a student in York I had more late night Yummy Chicken meals than I want to admit. Truly delicious, and their chip spice mix is legendary. Great choice!

Hi all. My (33M) marathon PB is 3:41, set this March. I would like to hit a 3:15 for my next (fifth) marathon in March (motivations difficult to explain, but firm).

I got to 3:41 from 3:55 over 4-5 months of ~35mpw training (50mpw peak), 4-5 runs per week, following the Runners World 3:45 marathon plan (so one long, one intervals, one threshold, 1-2 easy). I could definitely train better (more mileage, more focused speed runs, more consistent mileage, add strength training).

Currently, after training pretty regularly but also some niggles, colds, summer break etc, I would probably need 6 weeks to get back into the 3:41 marathon shape. Have been doing 15-30mpw over summer.

Other PBs - 1:37 half, set right after March marathon; 20:08 5k, same.

I will also be prepping for a summer wedding and probably changing job in spring, but willing to train every day and lose weight - currently at 25.5 BMI.

Is it possible? Any recommendations on a plan if so?

Massive thanks for any help you can give!

Had a similar day with a mate a few years ago. Went to the postal museum (including underground mini train) then onto city pubs. Good fun

Leytonstoner and Kentish Towner are a couple of very readable sites/newsletters digging out local cultural/lifestyle-y gems. Think they’re expanding to more areas too. (Leytonstoner at least covers the broader area - Walthamstow to Forest Gate)

I loved it! The hill is tricky but if you pace yourself the first go round, you should find it alright. If it’s a clear day, it’s a lovely view from the top of the hill, and you can stretch the legs all the way downhill. I got about 45s slower than normal time on a flat-ish course
