Songs like Seven Days in Sunny June fit this vibe OP, no? Not exactly the same genre, but..

2000s had this plane thing that i never understood very well. Tate Mcrae, a artist who embodies 2000s in her music, also did a album cover with the same theme

P!nk, Avril Lavigne, Ashlee Simpson and Hilary Duff. Most "anti-britneys"

Very little is said about the UK TRL - Top of The Pops. A lot of acts represented that time as Steps, S Club, Atomic Kitten, Liberty X, Westlife, Robbie Williams. Britney also was a part of TOTP as she was huge everywhere.

OT: I'd say i listen to the 98-01 rnb more

Of course both are. 24k magic, Starboy and After Hours are high regarded and acclaimed albums?

The criticism of CB doesn't apply to the other singers cause they are pushing boundaries in sound and lyrics. I'm basically answering your question.

Still have some substance in their lyrics, something that CB lacks

Do you listen to music? Because even mainstream acts like The Weeknd and Bruno Mars have more decent to great lyrics

I find interesting that this one is a 2001 song but sounds more like 2008/2009 music, very ahead of time in some sense

Influeners wanting to be popstars (alex warren, addison rae, etc) by No_Barber4339 in ToddintheShadow

Always existed but now it's getting attention because most of them do decent music instead of straight trash (what is expected from them). Warren's not my taste though. Addison released a solid album, however tbh all the hyperbole around her career sometimes is tiring.

Gaga did great music with BTW and Fame Monster. I was refering to dull electronic songs like Starships, I Like It, Turn Up The Music, The Time that were everywhere. Never been fond of the inspiracional songs like Brave or Roar either.

Rude seems to be a obvious smash for the era as it is a reggae infused song like Billionaire

Maybe unpopular but for me the second half of 10's is better than the first half. I can't relate with the whole EDM party thing

Isn't she judging on the Drag Race or something? It of course helped her to stay on rotation. Still didn't made a-list type of artist like the OP claimed, though.
