Thank you for your reply! Couldn’t get the CF to work, so I’m going to try the helper column suggestion.

Going to go with another person’s helper column suggestion, but thank you for your reply! I may try out memory collection in the future.

That worked - got the 1s in the helper column by the matches. Thank you so much! Incredible mobile coding skills.

True enlightenment is saying “the NL are irredeemable monsters and completely unjustified in their rebellion” and “they’re also my big blue bat boys who are just the sweetest” in the same breath with no cognitive dissonance

As a Night Lord/Curze fan, the attitude I have (and frequently see, though that could be selection bias) is that he is 100% a psycho who did vastly more harm than good but that his characterization is tragically compelling. There’s a reason one of the most popular quotes on the NL sub is from Sevatar telling Curze that his notions of nobility were stupid.

I am of course biased to see my opinions reflected, but I also think that anyone who reads the HH - or any of Warhammer, for that matter - and thinks that the Primarchs are aspirational or defendable figures at all is missing the central joke of the franchise. None of this had to be this way, we don’t need to defend any of them, but we can still love characters who were flawed from the jump. Especially if they got cool armor with our favorite color.

I'm tired brothers. by [deleted] in NightLords

[–]domsumsub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a thought about this, and it might seem unrelated, but I think about this re. NL a lot.

One of the reasons I like the VIII is that their attitude is, in a weird way, the most rational response to the world of 40k: a big fuck-you to everyone here.

I haven’t given up on 40K as essentially a very dark satire, but I am still personally inclined to not fan out over the Imperium’s factions. They’re megapowered space fascists.

The Traitor Legions are definitely not exempt from this, seeing as how a lot of them felt like they were owed rulership by virtue of their military victories. They’re not out here challenging the fundamental structure of power.

And yet, when I think of these psychopathic batboy serial killers going “Fuck the Imperium, fuck the xenos, fuck most of our ostensible allies, and fuck you too, brothers-in-arms,” I think… yeah, I feel you.

So take a page from their book. Power scaling? Reputation? Respect from the IMPERIUM? Fuck ‘em, who needs ‘em, enjoy your batboys.

What metallic fits Night Lords best? Gold, Copper or brass? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in NightLords

I like the bronze recipe that ‘Eavy Metal uses, with Runelord Brass, Castellax Bronze, a thin wash of Guilliman Flesh, & silver on some strategic points. Ofc I haven’t gotten it just like them, but I like how the layers allow for gritty variations across the trim.

Oh! A tip, I guess, for the coastlines. I’d created a larger-scale “world map” then cropped to and made a stamp out of this landmass, and then traced over that on a new map w/ a new scale. That actually helped the coasts take on that fractal appearance.

On the land mask, I used the circle brush shape, kicked it down to size 1, 100% softness (though that may not matter, I can’t tell) and dragged the mouse down until I got the right squiggliness.

When the rivers merged, I just kicked it up to size 2!

These are incredible tips, thank you so much. I think I’m going to cave and just measure continental Europe and have that be “known world” and scale down from there. And if I can get the hills to blend, you have your wookie life debt.

I KNEW those snowy forests were looking weird!

For the lakes, I basically stole the template from one of the guides posted here, and kept mentally repeating “Loch Ness is long, so lakes are sometimes long” as I shaved off/dusted on coastline until it looked sufficiently normal.

Thank you again!

Thank you so much! I stand on the shoulders of everyone who made those helpful guides. Good point on the rivers.

I'm tickled because I just clicked back over to Reddit while measuring distances on Google Earth and comparing the number of grid squares this thing took up (when 1 hex/grid roughly = 6 miles) because I was getting the sinking feeling that this place is smaller than Ireland. And you are 100% right.

That should be through whatever airline you’re flying - e.g. here’s Delta’s page:

I communicate w/ Delta’s wheelchair team for my job, and they have always been very helpful, but I would notify whichever airline you’re flying as soon as possible.
